New to trying this site and finding all out-of-state replies or contacts initially. Tough enough to meet someone local I don't want out-of-state to be a long-distance Factor at this point. How do you get local replies at your area instead?

Set your filters for distance search and who can message You.
That may help.

1) You only get replies from people you contact.
2) If people outside an acceptable area contact you just delete their message.
3) To find people in an area that is acceptable to you adjusts your search preferences accordingly.
4) Distance isn't a factor unless you allow it to be a factor.

3. Finding no one within 100 miles of me has been active in the last month...
The 2-3 that occasionally pop up have nothing written on their profile, which gives me no idea if we have anything at all in common...even one thing.
And, so far in my expereinces, those guys with nothing on their profile can't reply with anything of worth anyway..just repeated 2-3 word replies...

4. Let's be practical here.
Jobs, finances, etc...CAN be an object to long distance travel...
Weekends, you say? (re: jobs)
Some people aren't financially able to fly out of town every weekend to to be with someone hundreds of miles away...
And seeing someone 2-3 days a month really doesn't give you an idea of if you are compatible enough for one ot the other to relocate.
(Plus, it's always the scammer dudes 500+ miles away with their "seeking for" profiles that yammer about "distance is no object for truuuuu luuuuv...")

Plus, one or the other may not be able to uproot....
Getting the abilty to relocate, plus working out a visitng schedule, just *that* is hard enough, much less finding someone that you have enough in common with to make it worthwhile.

It is rare unless you live in Large Cities like Chicago, Dallas, LA, etc list goes on.

Use the Search option, set your preferred distance and send messages yourself. Keep in mind that no reply could mean not interested or they are not active here anymore.

As this is the internet, you have to be careful with scambugs so always be aware of the old adage "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is".

Also may I suggest not to put all your eggs in one basket... and have patience, lots of patience.
