Topic: The Ressurection | |
---|---|
I have been doing reasearch on if Jesus really rose from the dead.
I found this theory interesting. Any thoughts? The stolen body hypothesis is a theory which attempts to solve the problem of the empty tomb, suggesting that Jesus was not resurrected, but the apostles in fact stole the body, later fabricating the resurrection. |

if you are really interested in these kinda arguments against christ, his existence, divinity, and his resurrection you should read "the case for the real jesus" by lee strobel. great book taking the most recent atheist arguments against christ and dashing them to pieces.

OK.
Now explain away Saul of Tarsus, whose named was changed to Paul. Who proceeded to write most of the New Testament and started more churches than any man alive in his time and lived like a pauper and refused money and was beaten, imprisoned, marooned, left for dead numerous times and......well.... ...do I really need to go on? |

Paul never met jesus.

Zoomin' And your point? The story goes, the resurrected Saviour met him on the road and gave him the smack down. Blinded him too. What have you done, young buck? |

Yes he could not rise physically from the dead that is imposable. Many people believe that the book is talking about his spirit. I have even heard many pastors agree with this idea. |

The apostles stole the body, but undressed it first and folded the cloths and placed them in a neat little pile. That's your theory? The apostles who denied Jesus' existance just days before? The apostles who then proclaimed that Jesus was God and then they were all sent to their deaths? Why would anyone die for a cause that they didn't believe in?
That theory doesn't have any holes, it is a hole. |

I have even heard many pastors agree with this idea. nothing is impossible if he really WAS god. i believe his spirit went to heaven and on the 3rd day came back into his body and he physically woke up and walked around WITH holes in his body. |

The apostles who then proclaimed that Jesus was God and then they were all sent to their deaths? Why would anyone die for a cause that they didn't believe in? exactly. 11 of the 12 apostles died HORRIBLE deaths and john was exiled to the island of patmos. no one would do that for something they KNEW to be a lie. even extremist muslims suicide bomb themselves BELIEVING they'll immediately be in heaven with 72 virgins. just a question too, does it say "female virgins"? haha. |

your the one calling it a lie. It was probably powerful to them to know that Jesus spirit was up in heaven with God. It was only his later followers that felt a need to make up the story that he rose body and all. It is always the most faithful that tell the biggest lies
