But seeing as how I know most the the "smart" women who are active here in the forums, I'm pretty confident that they decided a couple days ago to avoid this thread entirely.

You may have noticed that Mingle2 censored a word of mine: it was "niggle"; (where I said that 'old' was an unnecessary word).

Perhaps Mingle also had problems with inaccurate reading. Most responders in this little exchange, were, almost salaciously, scattering ADVICE all about them "for people with old age problems" !

When I think of the high level of sensitivity and intelligence often found in these forums, I'm of course sorry that 'All The King's Advisers' happened to turn up at this particular moment. (Fortunately, I only had to remove one of them from my pages because (s)he? had mistaken me for a clinic.)

I really wrote to you to say that a 're-evaluation of the word' is a mite too academic. My point relates more specifically to the overwhelming and quite unnecessary presence of the word 'old' on this PARTICULAR type of site.
