Here is my latest blog post.

It's full title is GOP & Conservative Mainstream vs Trumpicans, Theocrats and Alt-Right

Members of the GOP and conservative mainstream constantly face trouble because others have them confused with Trumpicans, theocrats and members of the Alt-Right. Thus, clarification is needed.

Mainstream conservatives are people who want the federal government to conform to the entire U.S. Constitution, not just to parts of it. For example, conservatives respect the separation of church and state established by the U.S. Constitution and do not nitpick because the expression "separation of church and state" doesn't appear in the U.S. Constitution.

Mainstream Republicans seek to keep the size of the federal government at a necessary minimum. They also favor the individual over the group. These Republicans will acknowledge the bad coming from any GOP members, even if the bad is coming from a Republican POTUS.

Trumpicans attack anyone who dares to criticize President Trump because they think he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. They rubber-stamp whatever Trump wants and ignore his character flaws.

Theocrats want civil law in the USA to conform to their religious beliefs, and they want a religious litmus test for candidates for public office. Theocrats will cite their religious beliefs for being opposed to same-gender marriage, abortion*, gambling*, alcohol sales* and the teaching about evolution in public schools**. Also, plenty of theocrats are opposed to atheists, agnostics, Muslims and Mormons holding public office, while approving of Jews and Christians holding public office.

Some members of the Alt-Right openly promote white supremacy. Some use symbols of white supremacy or condone the use of symbols of white supremacy while denying what those symbols are. They turn blind eyes toward racist acts and deny the reality of racist acts.

Members of the GOP and conservative mainstream are being marginalized by Trumpicans, theocrats and members of the Alt-Right. This is due (at least in part) to Trumpicans, theocrats and members of the Alt-Right getting most of the attention from the American media. The loudest and most-controversial voices generate the biggest ratings for media members, and those voices aren't mainstream voices.

Trumpicans, theocrats and members of the Alt-Right have been destroying the Republican Party. If it hasn't happened already, then soon, members of the GOP and conservative mainstream will find themselves without a political party. Hence, they will be mainstream American voters who are Republicans in name only.

With Trumpicans, theocrats and members of the Alt-Right dominating the modern Republican Party, the Party will be Old, but it will no longer be Grand, and the Party's founders will be turning over in their graves.

*Theocrats don't necessarily have support from their scriptures for some of their beliefs. For example, neither the Tanakh (a.k.a. Old Testament) nor the New Testament mentions abortion. Neither condemns gambling, and neither says that it is always wrong to drink alcoholic beverages.

**Theocrats routinely violate the rules of science by insisting that scientific findings and theories pass a religious litmus test.

The Republicans aren't the only party beginning to unravel. The Dems have problems of their own, many caused by the extreme left, Hillary supporters, and Mrs. Brady's bunch (her late husband did not share some of her views).

I've considered volunteering with a political campaign. In fact, I was considering volunteering for a Republican candidate -- a mainstream Republican. And there are younger people joining the Republican Party in an effort to get the party back on track, steering it away from the more extreme factions.

I don't see this thread being anti-Trump. I actually see it more as being pragmatic. Whether you like Trump or not, it's pretty obvious that he is creating (or maybe just **enhancing**) division within the GOP, at least among the average Republican voters. The GOP has been getting pulled apart for years, if not decades, now -- big business, militia, the religious right, the Tea Party...

Meanwhile, the Dems have kind of focused in on certain key demographics that they don't have to too work hard at swaying. Those demographics also happen to fall in population-dense areas, making it even easier to concentrate their efforts.

The Republicans don't have that luxury. They have to cover a much larger geographical area to gather support, which often means trying to please a greater demographic diversity. That only brings to mind that quote attributed to Lincoln about pleasing all the people all the time vs. pleasing some of the people some of the time.

And it is ALWAYS the loudest voices that sway the crowd and the policy-making. Quiet voices don't get heard. Silence has nothing to hear. It's not just media. It's lobbying and political volunteering and advocacy, etc. Those are the voices that heard -- the active ones who are always pushing the envelope. It's the same with the Dems.

Well said, I overall agree. I was a republican for 23 years but about 8-10 years ago the party started to let the fringe voices take over, I became independent about 5 years ago. We all know what is the right thing to do and I feel we just treat one another with respect. We don't have to agree but maybe just try to see things through anothers viewpoint. If we were all deaf and blind how would we know who to hate

Let's just not support websites like GAB !

This is a free speech site that welcomes hate groups but have been shut down for a while since Pay Pal stopped funding it.

The man that murdered the Jews recently in Pittsburgh, PA used this website and posted Hate messages.

Discussed on "The TALK" .

Politically speaking, and stealing a quote from
a long dead politician...

"There ain't a damned dime's difference,
between the democratic and republican parties."

Dems unravel.
Republicans unravel.

It happens.
