Everythings better in Texas. I had to move back home to Texas because I missed it so much. Come on down and enjoy this great state. We could use more Good men in Texas. Let see we could use more like ActionLynx, Greeneyes and MK2 here. Most of the guys I have come across from TX are scammers or jerks. Besides Rock needs some buddies to hang with in the corner when we have a Mingle2 meet and greet. I know a few Texans... good people :). |

I dunno about Texas..but last week i had at *least* 10 dudes "from" Manahattan NY message me..
I put quotes around "from"...because they were probably in Manhattan just as much as *I* am in Paris,. France... They were scammers, because why would some urbane city dude message a small stock gal in TN?? One, maybe...but that even is doubtful. But 10 or more...nah.... |

Manhattan and New York City in general has always been a favorite location for those types. I don't know why.
I suspect they are recruiters working for an agency rather than scammers. I've also encountered them elsewhere. In fact, I've actually been *contacted* by a recruiter that was trying to play matchmaker for another site. Some of them are very aggressive when trying to hook up a client. As far as Texas... Maybe someday I will go digging through old posts to make a list of all the Texans I've known on Mingle over the years. It will be interesting to see how many there really are. |

I get several scammer dudes from Texas as well...all with their *classic* scammer messages... I know it only takes one victim to make it worth their while, but, dang... You'd think my profile and picture would get on some master scammer list as "don't bother with this one"... |

Aaaand....just got 2 more messages from Manhattan NY..
Dang..all the women in NY die, or something...LOL P.S..Reported the others, with their canned, textbook scammer message to me...they haven't been deleted yet. |

They just change their name and switch around profile pics. I don't think they ever really delete anyone. Easiest is to just block them.

well, it a huge state.. maybe just because of its size Some women say size matters....lol....couldn't resist |

then there's "all hat, no horse"

Being a urban dude myself, the reason you see so many scammers stating Manhattan as their home is simple... math, there are 18 million people here.. a lot more chances to scam.
They pick Manhattan because it is known worldwide. You hardly ever see them list The Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens or Staten Island ( the other boro's).. because they don't know them. I get them too and sometime ask just one question... " what part of Manhattan"..dead silence |

i think new york might have texas beat

what do you all do with "friend request"s -- i say in my profile i will delete all requests not from my state. Heck, I'm 74 and looking for a coffee companion w/conversations. I get 2 to 4 friend requests per day that OBVIOUSLY never read the profile. yet I feel guilty when I decline them. Is that ME being mental? I actually want to thank them for the request and THEN decline them. HELP

HELP IF they are not obviously scammers (message me and I'll give you some hints)...and are REAL guys just too far away who HAVE taken the time to read my profile.. To those I send a polite message saying thanks, but I am not looking for long distance, or chat buddies.. But, that's just me...I try to be courteous to those who are legitimately trying. The rest? (scammers, ones who won't read my profile) They can go pound sand, and aren't worth my time.. |

yes animal lover it is you being mental
do not even once consider that type of riff raff as deserving of anything but decline and block |

I only accept requests from people I know are real people. Mostly those here in the forums. I have one friend that doesn't post in forums but have known him for 30 years and ran across his profile here. Others are a definite no way.

Not everyone with a different state listed is unavailable for coffee or anything else. Their profile should clarify that. Some of us actually get around to different parts of the country. For instance I will be in Texas come January!
