My dad said, once he turned 60 "I'm 60 years old, I can do whatever I want.."
Now, he didn't mean this is a crude, nasty way...he simply meant he was now at the age he really didn't care what people thought. |

My mom's been dead for years too.. Mine too. We are both orphans. I s'pose at my age it is to be expected... My dad died when I was 38... My mom died when I was 47.. In my dad's case it was an issue that, *had* he been to a doctor could have been fixed before it got so bad. My mom? Pfft...she had issues from the time I was in high school...so, no surprise there.. I fortunately have *neither* of the issues they had...thankfully.. I think I take after my mom's sister (my aunt), and my dad's dad.... My aunt is 81 and a ball of fire.... My dad's dad lived to 93.... :-) I was an only child, so..yeah...in *addition* to being an "orphan"....  |
