I'm going to post this here...though I guess it could be a general discussion??
*shrugs* Anyway haha. I'm currently listening to Les Miserable and I love this musical! I saw it off broad way a little while back and it was amazing. The voices were amazing as well as the set. So I'm wondering what are your favorite musicals? Whether you've just listened to the sound track, seen it on a stage, seen it on TV, or performed in one! I'm curious to know

I am a musical theater freak! Les Mis is one of my faves too. Lately I love Hairspray, Dreamgirls, and Spring Awakening.

I've heard good things about Spring Awakening, but haven't seen it yet. And would you say Hairspray is better to be seen on stage or in movie form? I haven't seen that one yet either haha. |

I was planning on seeing Beauty and the Beast but then plans fell through =/ Is Jersey Boys more recent? I don't think I've ever heard of it. |

Phantom of the Opera definitely, I've never seen it on stage, but I sing along with the soundtrack when I'm cleaning.
I also like "Once Upon a Matress" because it was the first musical I ever saw, and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" because it was the first musical I saw in a real theater. Also "My Fair Lady" because it's awesome. Basically I love most musicals. |

I really need to go out and see more musicals haha. I think I will attack the musical section of my library when I'm for break.
I saw Amahl and the Night Visitors last night. And I thought that was pretty good, kind of short, but still well preformed. And one in summer theater we did Children of Eden which was amazing, being a member of stage crew, getting to see how everything comes together beautifully. |

Loved Les Mis, Phantom of course, Oklahoma,South Pacific, Godspell,Jesus Christ Superstar just to name a few..it is great knowing there are others in here who love musicals How that's so awesome! I wish I had singing talent. Which one did you like performing in the most? I did lights for Company and even though I wasn't in it the show was a lot of fun and the songs stuck in my head forever! In January I'm going to be doing lights for Funny Girl, I've never heard it before, but I'm excited. |
