US has a 60% mortality rate compared to other advanced Nations.
As many as ; 600 women die a year because of being older when giving birth or the Drs don't pay enough attention to the mother's health after birth. This is in the US.  Special research findings wand news 17 With the cost of Medical and the many Specialist Drs., you wonder how this could happen. IMO |

When I was pregnant with my children the Dr skipped a lot of my check ups. I was told several times that he was busy with a mom in labor so I rescheduled for the next month. When I went in for my last check up, I told the nurse I thought I was in labor. An hour later the Dr hadn't come in and I had to leave without being checked because I had to pick my daughter up from school. 30 hours later my water broke and I went to the hospital. A lot could have gone wrong during that time without me being checked. But the Dr got paid and that's all he cared about.

Live in a country with excellent heath care, unfortunately we don't always get that. I think a lot have to do with primary care doctors not having enough time to really check their patients. Because health care companies and insurance have them scrambling to treat as many as possible just to cover their bills.
Recently, I had chest pains. I went to a walk in doctors office on my way home from work, A immediate care kind of place. they did a EKG and said while it abnormal.. I was o.k... fine. I went about my business. Long story short.. 5 days later , I was in the hospital and they had my chest wide open and they were totally rebuilding my heart, valves, arteries.. Afterwards the surgeon told me that I could have died at any moment before the surgery. So much for .." you're O.K." |

It's sad hearing about neglect from Drs. Like that. Thanks for sharing your experience, I am sure there are more out there with unpleasant things happening to them as well. |

i am very surprised because of the quality of the medecine over there. IMO Its not really the quality of medicine. That is top notch, as is the medical centers. The doctors are the best and you can not say enough about the nurses.. they are angels..they really are. It is the Health care companies that are squeezing them as is the insurance companies that are charging them unbelievable rates. These factors and other mean that the doctors have to see many more patients that maybe they should be and " one on one" proper doctor visits go out the window. They are rushed.. My own primary care doctor ( who I have known forever) has told me this too. When that starts to happen.. things can happen.. not good things. |

I think alot of the problem in the U.S.,
is administrative. Cost cutting for the medical facilities, to boost profits. And cutting corners, to reduce losses. Assembly line medicine, might work in a sports locker room. But, it isn't really practical when dealing with internal health issues. |
