I made the biggest decision of my life tonight! I sat down with a friend and we discussed my 5-year plan! I was totally honest with everything I said, and basically it came down to what I need to do for myself to make my life better! Might just be an inspiration for me to better myself health wise, but I made the decision tonight that in the next year I am joining the Military!

thats what I'm saying too! I've always wanted to join, but have never been in good enough physical shape to do it, then I married a man in the Army and still loved everything about it! I think I can do it! I'm gonna try my best and make it!

Hey AJ, as a friend. What brought this goal and which branch? I am not being negative. Honest!

I have been thinking about it for years, but I've never been in a place in my life where I have thought I could commit to it. I fell in love in high school, and had my mind set on starting a family, I stood by him while he went though all the training and took care of home. I let that dream of mine fade over time.

While talking to a good friend of mine tonight, former Marine, we had a serious conversation about what I want in my life. I told him that I want a new life, I want to just runaway and start over somewhere fresh. I want to go back to school, and I want to make something of myself!

I told him how proud I was of Fofe, his step son, for what he has done with his life in the last 3 years since joining the Coast Guard. When I said that, it just clicked, and I told Kev that I had always wished I would have joined the Military. He said why don't you. My obvious first answer was... a DUH! I'm not in the physical shape needed to do it!

So we talked some more, and he agreed to help me get on a good diet/ exercise plan, and my goal is by January 2009 to join the Coast Guard, once I get my foot in the door there, I could always hop branches. I'm just not sure that I could mentally be able to handle having to go into a conflict, so that is why my choice was the Coast Guard!
