All the more reason not to watch it... my head would really hurt banging it on the wall like the rest of you do
Seriously though, I really do need to watch it. But I don't like having the tv on during the day or while I'm doing anything. I've thought about mornings while I'm getting ready and getting the breakfast set up, but I would end up stopping to sit down and watch it. I've never been one to be able to have it on in the background... kind of drives me crazy actually. |

I don’t watch that much myself. I refuse to get caught up and upset about it, because it will only change again soon...in November most likely.
I get my news in very small bites anymore. I used to be a news junky, then one day realized I was paying for a few more channels besides C-Span and weened myself off. |

I don't have a radio dub and it's the same thing. Constant background noise and the talking while I am working or focusing on other thing drives me crazy. Major sensory overload.

npr is a good way to keep informed. I used to be addicted to NPR in my car too. But you’re right. It covers everything happening. Hearing callers opinions make it more interesting than just hearing the media’s take on subjects. |

cspan is magical for insomniacs Not me. I would be riveted to that stuff. I’d even make bets with myself over who was going to walk over and shake hands during breaks. |

I had no idear that Kansas had such a lack of sunshine...oh you mean politically, haha. Such cool ghost stories! I went on holiday to a cabin once, in a beautiful wooded area known for hiking trails etc. I woke up in middle of the night so went downstairs (very nice cabin/not so rustic). There was a 'food plot' which is a spot to lay out food for deer and there's a spotlight so you can see them even if its dark....so there they were, these lovely deer, and a black blob moving across the ground. Ive never seen or heard anything like that so it rattled me a bit. Bad energy too. Anyhoo, there was an air of negativity over nothing i could understand and I wound up sleeping in the spare room after my insomnia, but the weirdest freakiest bit was waking up with the word 'hanged' in my head as if it was spoken to me, and three scratches on my arm. It was still bleeding when i woke up, and my partner insisted it was from walking thru thorns on a trail the day before? I soaked in a hot tub after that hike and went to bed without marks. Never plan on going back. I felt sure there was something paranormal there and after researching found out there was a hotel in the area where theives would murder people passing thru. Travelers spent the night since there was nothing else around for miles. It was like a halfway point between civilized towns in the 1800's. Once the law caught on to this activity, the theives scattered into the woods and got away except for one who was hanged right there. It has since become a popular destination for suicides. Wow... That's crazy. Someone needs to go exorcise that ghost, lol. I'm actually not kidding. Doing so will help to make it not such a popular place for suicide. It's the energy of the ghost that most likely is feeding those who would be more susceptible. |

you have internet, don't you?
my point was that you can get good information when you have time. we, as americans, tend to forget that we govern ourselves and therefore have a responsibility to stay informed. ...not drink the koolaid, not rely on propagandists or rumor mills, but to stay informed so that we can not only make informed choices but guard ourselves and others from those that would do us harm, or do harm in our name. we don't all have to be news/politics junkies, but we do well to keep apprised rather than blindly trust the greedy and power hungry to to do the right things. |

Hey Klc. Dub and I are actually in Missouri though. And Yike, thanks for the warning. I will not be heading there to vacation. thanks for the heads up. i was wondering what you were talking about! i haven't been in kansas in over 30 years. don't expect i'll be hurrying back there anytime soon, certainly not as big a hurry as i was to get out. i certainly didn't know there was a stl ks, or that it was listed on my profile. |

Yes dub, I have internet and the ability to listen to the news or watch it. I'm choosing not to. Maybe some day I will choose differently but for now, it's not going to happen.

Hey Klc. Dub and I are actually in Missouri though. And Yike, thanks for the warning. I will not be heading there to vacation. That’s too true. Almost every Interational profile I run into here gets Googled. You’re from where? Did you make that up? |

Just proves you can take the boy out of Kansas, but you can’t knock the Kansas out if the boy.
