A lady of the grand age of 100 years has died in hospital after receiving a broken neck whilst being robbed!
She was attacked 2 weeks ago by a 39 years old man who is now in custody.

While I don't support the idea of bringing back the stocks... feeds hatred and violence, I can definitely understand wanting to punish harshly those who commit such terrible crimes.

It makes me so sad every time I hear of these monsters attacking innocents. Overall, I still believe most people are good and the bad ones are a very small minority.

I agree with P about stockades inciting hate and violence. I’d prefer it if violent offenders got as little publicity as possible, beyond informing citizens. I worry that media sensationalism may feed fires beneath potential offenders.

Well, when people commit crimes we give them 3 meals a day in air conditioning while watching cable tv.

I hear what pisces is saying but just how do you punish someone like that?
I've given my view.

They will just be let back out to do it again. To many dont get the sentence they deserve. And many don't see it until it's someone close hurt by these ppl.

My mother carried a gun. She night have been old but she was mean.

We need to put prisoners to work instead of paying road crews etc. No air. Just fans minimum heat. No tv, internet.

I've always thought that to about giving them work such as cleaning ditches, roads etc.
I think that was suggested here years ago but the lefties said it's against there human rights to make them work!

I came acrossed something similar.

This older guy was having problems opening his safe. We went in, opened and repaired it for him. Instead of just remembering the combination he had us write it on the wall just above the safe. Reason? He'd been robbed before. Under the stress of being robbed, he'd forget the combination. Money wasn't an issue, he'd keep just a couple hundred in it. He'd gladly give it up just to stay alive.

Well, his kids painted that room not long after we did the work, painting over the combination. He called to have us come back to put the combination BACK on the wall. An appointment was set up the following week. During that weekend, he got robbed again, and killed for not being able to remember the combination.

That little episode taught me one thing. You break into my house while I'm here- You get shot. I got a barely legal sawed off that says I can hit you IF you're in front of me.

Every day here in the NYC area the morning news shows camera footage of the animals that did violent crimes night. The ones the cops are searching for.

2 days ago they show a guy in his 20's beating the living hell out of a 85 year old woman who he was trying to take her pocketbook out on the sidewalk.

I'm not talking pushing and shoving, I'm talking punching the hell out of the defenseless lady who is now recuperating. So difficult to even watch. I don't know how she survived.

The cops will find him fast.. but this type of stuff happens every single day here. Old people are target
