Topic: Is There a Place Called Hell | |
---|---|
we have a thread already by BigD where we can look at and bounce off our own personal ideas from.
but this is more of a common sense question, pertaining to if there is a heaven and those believing in God go to, then where do those who do not believe in God go to. and before i press the post button, let's look at one verse from the very words of Yeshua [Jesus, or God in the flesh]... Matthew 12:30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. according to Yeshua, people will either be for Him or against Him. since He nails it down to only 2 options [for/against], where do you think people go to if they are against Him? since there is an obvious divide in choices here, it would make sense if you are against Him you don't go to His heaven, but to Satan's hell. have at it. and for the life of me here, i am trying to be civil and according to Mingle rules. all opinions are welcome. i sincerely mean that |

Good luck on that, people like the aforementioned will go off topic and flame, and it will bring the mods in and they will have no choice but to lock this thread.
To answer the question yes. |
|
|
|
Yup and the devil still has that restrsining order against me.
|
|
|
|
for Yeshua to basically divide people into 2 categories [for/against], it would make sense if those for Him go to heaven, then those against him go to hell. this is not a thread condemning people. this is a common sense response based off the scripture i provided. so there are only 2 possible answers, like there are only 2 possible choices when we think about Yeshua [we are either for Him or we are against Him]!! |

As I said before, there is no "hell." It is obvious this upsets some people. The word "hell" appears in the KJV and a couple others but has been removed from most English versions. King James was a bisexual man. That is a historical fact. And still, no one has come up with the Ancient Hebrew/Greek term that "hell" represents. |

King James was a bisexual man. That is a historical fact. And still, no one has come up with the Ancient Hebrew/Greek term that "hell" represents. Yeshua gave the parable about Lazarus and the rich man. He basically painted a picture that Lazarus was in paradise with Abraham while the rich man was suffering and obviously was hot because he wanted Lazarus to dip his finger in water to cool him down. Yeshua even went on to further the rich man begged Abraham to warn his family that was still alive so they would not end up where the rich man was. i know you disagree with this parable. but nonetheless, Yeshua is the one portrayed in scripture as telling the story. why would Yeshua give a picture of one person with Abraham in paradise while the other one was in torment if this place did not exist? why did the demons cast out by Yeshua beg Yeshua to not be sent to the abyss if hell does not exist? why does Peter claim there are levels in hell and the abyss is the furthest one down where fallen angels that were immoral [had sex and children with human women end up at] if hell does not exist? these 2 verses indicate they are from YESHUA: Matthew 13:42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 13:50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. that is a perfect description of hell by God in the flesh if there was one. so, how do you claim there is no hell when Yeshua painted this idea of one? whether it is suffering, torment, gnashing of teeth, wailing, it is all in a furnace of fire. what do you think the furnace of fire is? it is hell!! |

Absolutely there is a lake of fire that burns forever.
Jesus talked more about eternal punishment (lake of fire) more than He did about Heaven . See my last post in the last thread about this topic. |

every religion known to man references this hot place where the damned will spend an eternity
Whether its called Hell, Hades, Naraka,Jahannam or purgatory, most people believe there is some place called Hell. |

Absolutely there is a lake of fire that burns forever. Jesus talked more about eternal punishment (lake of fire) more than He did about Heaven . See my last post in the last thread about this topic. quick question for you. and before i proceed, may you understand i completely agree with the Lake of Fire mentioned in revelations before Yeshua died, buried, resurrected...there is a concept that saints from the Old testament went to a place that was literally side by side with hell. in the parable by Yeshua concerning Lazarus and the rich man, according to Yeshua, Abraham tells the rich man that Lazarus is unable to do as the rich man asks [cool him off with water] because there was a GULF between the 2 holding places of the souls. 1 side was believers and the other side was torment and hell and they could visibly see one another. this is why it was key Yeshua resurrect because he released these trapped souls of the saints. and why Paul said, now when we die we are immediate with Christ, no longer held in this PIT. so here is a visible expression of words describing a physical hell well before we know the Lake of Fire comes into play after judgement. would it therefore not make sense to view this as hell, the furnace of fire where the rich man was in torment and wanted water to cool him down? Revelation states death and hell will be cast into the Lake of Fire!! according to the rich man/Lazarus/Abraham parable told to us by God in the flesh, there is a physical hell now. in my observation of the scripture and understanding, i view this as the pit Satan was cast into when he was booted out of heaven. and if you relate the parable of the rich man/Lazarus to weeping and gnashing of teeth in furnace of fire, you will also see where Yeshua mentions how He watched Satan fall as lightning to the earth. i conclude 2 hells are mentioned therefore in the bible. 1 is the grave, and the other is the one whose mouth grows wider daily as sinners are being cast into it!! of course, this is just my opinion on what i read |

The lake of fire cannot be "hell." CLV Rev 20:14 And death and the unseen were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death--the lake of fire. Are you suggesting that "hell" is cast into "hell"? The "lake of fire" and "sheol" are very different words and are not interchangeable. The Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus is just that... a parable. |

The Lake of Fire is mentioned 4 times in the Scriptures. All in the Book of Revelation. It is a symbol, but not a literal place. CLV Rev 19:20 And the wild beast is arrested, and with it the false prophet who does the signs in its sight, by which he deceives those getting the emblem of the wild beast, and those worshiping its image. Living, the two were cast into the lake of fire burning with sulphur. CLV Rev 20:10 And the Adversary who is deceiving them was cast into the lake of fire and sulphur, where the wild beast and where the false prophet are also. And they shall be |tormented day and night for the eons of the eons. CLV Rev 20:14 And death and the unseen were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death--the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone was not found written in the scroll of life, he was cast into the lake of fire. And still, no one has come up with the Ancient term that the word "hell" represents. This is not a word that even exists in the Bible. |

Doesn't matter if the word exists, what it represents clearly does.

Doesn't matter if the word exists, what it represents clearly does. I'm sorry. If the word doesn't exist, how can it represent anything? Located in Livingston County, Michigan, Hell lies about 15 miles northwest of the popular college town of Ann Arbor and originally grew around a collection of mills alongside a distillery and tavern. As I said, the Lake of Fire is mentioned in the Scriptures only 4 times. And in The Book of Revelation, which is mostly written in a figurative style. And yet there are all these beliefs about "hell." They did not come from the 4 verses on the Lake of Fire. Also, there is nothing in the Bible that says anyone in the Lake of Fire can't come out. I don't see alot of Scripture quoted here, so I have to assume that most of what people have said here is not Scriptural. Can you prove your points from the Scriptures? And by Scriptures I mean book, chapter, and verse. Not from our failing memories. |

Mikey my dear friend, the subject of hell(shoel, lake of fire ) or final destination for the human spirit is really a serious issue. The truth remains that there is definitely 'a place that burns' for Satan and those who follow the ideals of satan-rejecting Jesus Christ(YESHUA) as the saviour of their life. The simple fix is faith in Jesus Christ and his work on the cross of calvary. WHY DID YESHUA DIE? He died to pay for the sins of all humanity. So that we can be free from eternal damnation in the lake of fire or hell fire when we accept him as our Lord and saviour(John 3 v 16) ''For God so love the world that He gave his only begotten son that who so believeth in him would not perish but have everlasting life'' |

Most people have seen the word "hell" from the KJV. I think the Catholic Bibles have it too (RSV & NAB). But if you look, you will find that most English versions have removed the word "hell" from their Bibles. Year A.D. BIBLE VERSION Old T New T Total 400 The Latin Vulgate/Douay-Rheims 77 24 101 1611 King James Version 31 23 54 1884 Hanson’s New Covenant n/a 0 0 1891 Young’s Literal Translation 0 0 0 1900 Twentieth Century New Testament n/a 0 0 1901 American Standard Version 0 13 13 1902 Rotherham’s Emphasized Bible 0 0 0 1903 Weymouth’s New Testament n/a 0 0 1917 Jewish Publication Society Bible OT 0 n/a 0 1942 Emphatic Diaglott Greek /English Int. n/a 0 0 1952 Revised Standard Version 0 17 17 1978 New International Version 0 14 14 1976 Restoration of Original Sacred Name 0 0 0 1982 New King James Version 19 13 32 1983 Concordant Literal NT n/a 0 0 1998 Tanakh/The Complete Jewish Bible 0 n/a 0 2004 Holman Christian Standard Bible 0 10 10 "Hell" also comes to us from Dante's Inferno, a fiction work from the "Inferno (Italian for "Hell") is the first part of Dante Alighieri's 14th-century epic poem Divine Comedy." Here are 8 points that prove there is no "hell" in the Scriptures. 1. There is no Ancient term for the word 'hell' as we use it. Sheol Hades Gehenna Tartarus Which one did you think was hell? 2. There is no record of a 'hell' ever being created... CLV Gn 1:1 IN A BEGINNING Created by the Elohim were the heavens and the earth. This tells me that heaven and earth were created. There is no such record for a 'hell.' 3. The church says that 'hell' is separation from God... AV Ps 139:8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou [art] there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou [art there]. Evidently, there is no separating from God. 4. The Jews have no hell. Jesus was a Jew. As a Jew, He was not taught about a hell. There is no hell in the OT. Don't believe me? Ask a Jew. 5. The word 'hell' is absent from the Tanakh. The Tanakh is the Scriptures of the Jews. It is the same books that we have in our English versions of the OT, just in a different order. The Tanakh was here long before English was even a language. 6. Just before the 12th century, there was no such word as 'hell.' So says Merriam - Webster. That is well over 1000 years after Jesus left. 7. Man's 'punishment' for his disobedience in Eden in Genesis 3:17 to... CLV Gn 3:19 In the sweat of your face shall you eat your bread, till your return to the ground, for from it are you taken, for soil you are, and to soil are you returning." If God punished man once, what is the point of punishing him again with a 'hell?' 8. Finally, the Scriptures tell us that all mankind shall be saved. ALL, meaning everyone. Who shall be Saved? CLV Ro 11:32 For God locks up all together in stubbornness, that He should be merciful to all. CLV 1Ti 2:4 Who wills that all mankind be saved and come into a realization of the truth. CLV 1Ti 4:10 (for this are we toiling and being reproached), that we rely on the living God, Who is the Saviour of all mankind, especially of believers. |

Located in Livingston County, Michigan, Hell lies about 15 miles northwest of the popular college town of Ann Arbor and originally grew around a collection of mills alongside a distillery and tavern. Yes, and the place freezes over, too. On a serious note . . . This topic is about a word originating from Norse mythology. No, the word Hell isn't in the Greek New Testament manuscripts. However, Hell is the Norse equivalent of the Greek Hades. In Greek mythology, Hades is where all people go when they die, with the worst people going to Tartarus instead. Hades, in turn, is the Greek equivalent of the Hebrew Sheol. Regarding the final destination of those who reject Messiah Jesus, Revelation chapter 20 refers to that place as the lake of fire. |

Suffering, certain death!? Hope your well |
