I'll admit, KFC has the best coleslaw.
But, Church's has better fried chicken.

........

As to the question in the original post...
Houses of worship, should maintain tax
exempt status.

then will you join the church or the goverment?smokin

ABSOLUTELY they should be taxed!!!

on ALL of their income,AND all of their property!!!
[ESPECIALLY since they feel that they have the right to donate money, lobby our politicians, and interfere in political campaigns]

and, donations to them should not be considered to be tax deductble, either!!!!!
if you want to give your money away, that is your business, but WE shouldnt have to subsidize it any more than we should subsidize people who want to give their money away at strip clubs!

if they actually happen to spend any of their money on charitable efforts, they can just claim it on their taxes as a 'tax deduction' just like everybody else does.

but, judging by all of these multi million dollar mega churches, and pastors who have their own personal jets to 'spread the word',that wont be nearly as much as it should be,considering how much 'good' they claim that they do for the community!

Nobody should be taxed

How would we pay for police, fire service etc.

The state of Washington pays for all that from big companies. .. Boeing and Microsoft comes to mind

Really, good for them if they manage that but I would imagine it would stop big companies setting up there, I mean why should they pay everyone’s tax.

I was once told the State of Alaska give all residents a yearly lump sum, not sure if it’s true or not. From oil money apparently.

I don't know about Alaska but I'm pretty sure there's no state tax for individuals in Washington state.

they get it from TAXING Boeing, and Microsoft!

but if NOBODY should be taxed, then since the supreme court has ruled in its citizens united dedcion that corporations are people, and have the same rights as people, then that would mean that you couuldnt collect taxes from corporations, either.

the state of alaske DOES pay dividends from a private corporation trust fund to all of its citizens who permanently live there, from revenue collected from the oil companies called the Permanent Fund Dividend [PFD] for the damage that they are doing to the land, the wildlife, and its ecology, and for the oil that the companies are exporting out of the state, which will no longer be there for the future generations of alaskans to have the use of.

the payment can be up to a couple of thousand dollars per person, but, the cost of living up there is so high that it is just a drop in the bucket, but the residents do not have to pay any personal income tax on their earnuings....
everything all comes from the PFD.

it would be nice if we had the same thing down here in the lower 48,paid for by the huge corporations that infect our land, and use up all of its resources, but it will never happen, cuz they have too many lobbyists paying for their own private politicians in their pockets to write laws to make sure that they dont have to pay hardly ANY taxes, and that the little people carry the brunt of the weight of paying to run our country.
The PFD was set up before the lobbyists got the stranglehold on our government that they have now.

Actually you're half right. Since the supreme Court ruled that, the State says we only tax people that makes 100 million or more a year.
