Topic: Pisces Coffee and Cupcake Shop - part 16 | |
---|---|
My sister and niece encouraged me to join and gave me all kinds of advice. Then they got mad because I spent all my time on Mingle. Just spoke with my new boss to let her know when I'd be arriving. Technically I can get there on the 12th, but would like a little time to regroup, shop for work pants, and visit with my son. He can take me on the 12th or 14th. She said the 14th was fine, and to save the receipts for my pants so they can reimburse me. And they pay for the ferry ride over! Pretty cool, thought I'd have to take care of both those things. That’s wonderful! The transition will be smoother if you don’t have to rush rush rush things. I will confess that the ferry ride was one of my favorite parts of both of my trips there. I have to be up top no matter how chilly it gets. Definitely! I was thinking about leaving some of my winter stuff at my sons, but forgot that it will still be a bit chilly there. It's been known to snow in the middle of April in Northern Michigan. |

When I was a kid in Minnesota, I remember a heavy snow the day before Halloween once. At the end of the season don’t forget to leave before the lake freezes over. I hear it’s a long cold walk to the mainland. |

I'd take the little plane though rather than walk, lol. Down in Florida it was a lot easier to have small wardrobe. Summer and spring clothes only. They weighed less and were less bulky. That's one reason I'm waiting to get to Traverse City before shopping, I won't have any room for more clothes |

I hope it’s not a bicycle propelled airplane. |

That's really cool. No, it's not a bicycle propelled plane, but I wouldn't mind trying one

No, not near a cliff. Got my airline ticket, now I just need to book a hotel for the overnight in Denver. I decided to book the shorter day flight instead of the overnight one. But I still have to spend the night in a hotel. This way though I can get there early and enjoy the hot tub. |

How long does it generally take to start getting mail?
I’ve only two nibbles in two days. One deactivated in the middle of a convo. He was too handsome to be realz anyway. The second sent two short notes and........silence. Heavy sighs! Meg Ryan gets mail! Rant over. |

It varies, some days you get a little and other days you get a lot more. If you view their profile or send them a nudge, they are more likely to message you as well.
Most here would agree that your best chances of meeting someone genuine is in the forums. But with you being where you are, some from the dating side that contact you might turn out to be genuine. |

Or offer to give a catburger to whomever contacts you. That is how we used to do it on planet Melmac. Sigh! I miss my home world. Why did it have to blow up? |

Awww, I'm sorry you lost your home David... I could go out back and see if I can find a nice cat for you. Although the ones around here are kind of big |

It sounded like you’re saying there are more genuine people in Florida. At the office they told me to set my email filter to cast a wide net. No place is off limits for me. Though I’m not likely to actually GO anywhere further than down the coast. My age perimeters are a tad tight. If I’m not getting mail in a couple days, I’ll loosen up. |
