I had a Brit. spaniel that I had rescued from the humane society. He was an abused & abandoned dog. Brittian & I worked hours together. I, like a doofus, sat on the cold November ground at night (in shorts & a tank top) for HOURS until he finally came up and sat beside me & allowed me to pet him.

Doing that gave me pnuemonia.
Doing that gave him love.

He died 3 years later from throat cancer. Brittian was 6-7 years old.flowerforyou

I;ve lost many fur babies over the years, it is heart breaking each time.

A lady I once worked with in reaction to my grief over losing a Basset, Petunia, said "It's just an animal." Before I knew what I was doing, I decked her! Even if you feel that way, have the sensitivity and sense to keep it to yourself.

BJ's a cutie-patutie beach! The one in the background in that pic looks like a Golden I had, Mandy. She was another dog I rescued. She passed of cancer a few years ago.

lilbug that was nice of you. I have worked with strays and
abandoned animals for years. Hard to believe some people will
just turn their heads and ignore things.

Like you said... Animals do need shelter from the elements-
they can freeze to death very easily, and starve.

To a fellow animal lover...flowerforyou(((lilbug)))drinker
