LDR can work. My Mingler came to me, because the grass is definitely greener here. About loyalty? Well that depends on their integrity. It can be very lonely though, you need to speak daily to keep the flame kindled. We had five years together. Yes we are not together now, but what I am saying is LDR can work. We worked through the visas and he was here working in New Zealand. We had passed the year living together needed for him to apply for residency. Then we broke up. Not everyone would have the issues we had though, which broke us up. which was? |

Interesting to read you 2 exchange of wisdom.
" Blondey111 and Ladywind7" Taking it that both have a similar experience in the past Forgive me, I can be wrong LDR can work if there is trust, faith, and real determination. The grass is pretty green on my side of the fence, life is comfortable, and luckily I still have a job to supplement my pension, I own right my own roof over my head, I have everything I need, and also space And I NO POSH EITHER Just a HAPPY CHAP Example ..I have a high school sweetheart living in Italy and we talk very often, I know the spark is there. The only problem is, ( And that's against my personal morals, believes & principles ), that she is not divorced, just separated. In principles, I WOULD WAIST MY TIME WITH HER knowing that there is not a real future. I AM a Capricorn, (THE EARTH), AND I SHOULD KNOW BETTER At least I am divorced, 24 years now, and yet holding still strong for the next best one in my life WHEN, or if ANY COMES ALONG Leave it with U 2 experts to work this out If by any chance, soon after I will retire 4 good next year, I find a compatibility somewhere over the big pond, I don't mind giving it a chance or go... After all, I can support my self in a country where my Aussie pension is accepted So, in conclusion, regardless of one's past experiences, LIFE GOES ON, WE ALL LOOKING FOR WARMTH IN THE HEART BY DECIDING TO TAKE ONE MORE CHANCE IN TIME. RESPECT to U 2 |

is there still a guy who want LDR and find their someone and willing to risk everything just to be with that girl and stay loyal in better or worst day? I saw people having an LDR.. it's working (though not for all) their love for each other grow stronger.. anyway both should be loyal and understanding.. both should also do something to make the relationship work.. |

I am curious....why pick LDR vs local? |

I am curious....why pick LDR vs local? So itβs not a normal relationship with love but a relationship symbiosis |

Just want to add that how can you really know that the person is really them? I recently had a run in with a scammer...not fun...was really disappointed! I just kept telling the person that I needed to meet them before I commit to them more...then after a week of texting he gives me the "I've lost my wallet and need $499 for bills" speech...I blocked his number real quick! So be aware!!

Not everyone would have the issues we had though, which broke us up. Geezz, that is harsh... One of the reasons I steer clear from getting involved with someone from abroad. Unless they have their own means to get into the country. Hope you are healing well! |

Any relationship you are in is tough. LDR's can actually be a godsend for people who do care and love each other but also enjoy the break from the one they love. Yeah...it sounds messed up....but some people actually make it work for them...and they don't end up chopping off penises or boiling the other persons' pet or something.

yeah, and if you stick to LD and never meet, you sure as heck never get an STD either! Could be THE relationship of the future, haha.
In all honesty, I think it can only work long term when eventually you do move closer together or move in together. If you don't meet on a regular basis, I don't see how you can even speak of a relationship. And like Ladywind said, you have to be in touch regularly to keep things going. You lose touch with one another when you don't do that. At the same time that being in touch regularly/daily should feel like fun, pleasure. It should come from desire. As soon as it become more like a chore, you can bet your @$$ things are going down the drain. And to avoid getting to that point is tricky if you don't see each other regularly. People innately want to be together, in the flesh, touch, feel, smell and so on. However wonderful modern technology is, it can never replace actually being together. And sure you can keep LDR going for yonks, but I think it's more of an illusion than an actual relationship. You will never know if you can actually live with that person, what little things about them you'd come to love or hate after a while. Meaning you never get to know one another. Not really. So unless there's the option to move closer and/or move in together somewhere between 1-2 yrs into the 'relationship', you can forget about it. (And preferably sooner than 2 yrs, that is already pushing it.) |

I would say some folks don't like where they're at and want to move to a better place Better place, motown? Is it like when someone dies and people say they are in a better place now? oooh I don't want to be in that better place yet. Agree don't want to be In that better place as well.... But why is it is always browsed upon when someone would want to find a love outside of her country....hmmmmm... But succes rate is poor unless you do spend some time together and the sincerity is there between 2 parties involved, meeting in person gives no assurance that you will end up a happily ever after as well. If you have all the time in the world to chat then good luck.... and beware of scammers. Agree with visa issues as well, as you have to go through a lot of things and it is quite impractical money-wise. |

RESPECT to U 2 Correct, no man is an island, unless you want to settle with just the loving memories and hold on to it. As you said "Do What You Love" and "Forgive and Live Free" Walk out, see the sun, and find that person who could put warmth in your heart wherever she may be, MINGLER OR NOT, it's worth the efforts when it means YOUR HAPPINESS. . Wishing you all the best to come when you retire |
