Topic: The Golden Rules in Christian Dating | |
---|---|
Have you ever tried to make a list of all the different dating advice you’ve heard, even just the advice from other Christians?
Date for at least 3 months. Don’t date anyone else in that same year. Date exclusively in this time on weekends. Make sure you get plenty of time one on one to talk. (no sex) Don’t hot and heavy kiss before you’re married. Lust v Respect How can you know you have chemistry without kissing? To want to kiss the person the longing, then image, the fantasy, is the long-lasting relationship kiss. Put clear boundaries into place. Dating v One night stands Don’t try to follow everyone else’s rules. Ask yourself do I want a Lady or a Fling. Do I want a Gentleman or a User? Spend lots of time together. Cooking meals, Movies, Walks, Hobbies, Church, Bowling, Concerts, in deep conversations. Be careful not to waste how much time you spend together. On long drives, friends and family, shopping, these are for later in the relationship right now you need to get to know this person. Date only one person and be serious about it, be your best during and after, don't let the image or passion stop or the relationship will also weather away. You must keep up your Manners and Respect for the entire life expectancy with this person. Don’t date anyone after you’re already ready committed to marrying them. Devote your life to them as they will have done the same for you. Make a marriage work it's not just a day or a year its a lifetime regardless if it is 5 yrs, 10yrs or 20+ years. You wanted this now be the best you can be in this committed relationship. If you don't get along then perhaps its because you found another person's image in your mind and forgot the image you created for the person you are falling out of love with. It really is that simple. I once knew a man who was married for 58yrs, He never looked at another woman, he never allowed another woman to hug him, he always said: "Those hugs are for my wife only". When a man knows his heart in his wife he can not see another woman. Why is Christian or Catholic or any other religious relationship different: They seek a special kind of friendship and it's not lust or passion but a committed relationship with one person for their own life. They seek a life with a unified group that has the same thinking and beliefs in marriage. One that is born in the church and dies in the church, one that has fellowship with others as a support system. That is the different... |
