Sounds a blaring alarm
astounding lack of sincerity
never a moment's clarity

I vanish into the sound
of pitch black all around
the mastermind at play
conscience thrown away

the blackness saturates
my foothold disintegrates
reach out to find the end

what force can overcome darkness
what source is there to harness
the blackness drips like syrup
such trouble it does stir up

what weakness has this darkness
what pulls closer-in its farness
what challenge holds its defeat
what can cause it to be replete

There is a force so strong
hidden darnkness remains hidden not log
what iterrupts dark of night?
