The 49ers are 0-5, someone needs to tell the poor little millionaires they don't have to take a knee the whole game they still got to play. Are these players so ignorant that they don't realize they are driving fans away which in turn takes money from the teams which means they are hurting themselves. So yes I hope all owners take the stance J. Jones has. Nip it in the bud.

I am a veteran and served my country in Vietnam. When I watched a movie in the theater on base we stood for the National Anthem before the movie played and back then I got a lump in my throat just listening to the Anthem. I still get choked up when I hear it. I would never kneel or take a seat when the Anthem is played. I will always stand with my hand over my heart.

Nip it in the bud. they realize some fans will be lost and some fans will be gained ... such is life I plan to watch it regularly now that people are trying to silence them and make them into personal dolls instead of football players playing a demanding sport that wreaks havoc on their bodies to make the organization and owners money ... |

You are all equally citizens with equal voices, experiences, and perspectives to be respected, imho |

It's just a few minutes to show our respect and unity for our country. Not a lot to ask for what our country has done for ALL of us. Nothing else. your COUNTRY is not a living thing, it does NOTHING, its a symbol and an ideal PEOPLE do things for other people and we dont mandate people respect any PERSON by standing at attention for them. The flag is a symbol of patriotism, but how one 'respects' it should not be a mandate if they are not doing something blatant like cursing or flipping it the bird. You can 'respect' your country(whatever that is to you) by giving your countrymen the RIGHT to display their patriotism THEIR OWN WAY. display your patriotism by being unpatriotic... you sure have a way with words... who gets to define for EVERYONE what being 'patriotic' means or what it is supposed to look like? and who gets to mandate anyone be 'patriotic' to a country when people continue to be excused in their inhumanity and dismissal of each other/fellow countrymen? |

This is where I find it all wack-a-doo
All I have heard (everywhere) is it isn't about the anthem or flag, but to protest. Yet they decided to protest during the anthem (say what you want, but they are in uniform and on the sidelines...on the job) and want to use the excuse of not being forced to stand for the anthem. If it isn't abput the anthem, why should it matter? No rights are being trampled on if it isn't about the anthem. It is about a protest that they need to do on their own time If it isn't about the anthem, don't use it |

nobody even knows what they are protesting... just a bunch of high paid idiots..
At least Kaepernick knew what he was protesting. The copy cats don't |

Just people who are diluted and have no respect for the people and things/constitution, that has paved the path for our freedoms and made this country great. I'm a vet, totally support and agree with what you are saying msharmony! thank you. If you were to bring soldiers or vets onto the field and they did not get respected, I would feel differently. But I don't feel everyone sees the flag as representing the same thing, let alone that everyone sees it representing soldiers. It is a symbol, that means different things to different people and will never matter more than fighting for our fellow citizens does ... to me, and to many soldiers. |

If someone doesnt want to participate in a custom, but has to be present, they should be able to opt out in a quiet manner. Just like if I had someone for dinner mad at God for having lost a child, and instead of folding their hands in prayer, they sat quietly with them crossed in front of them. I would not find it disrespectful, but understand that at that moment, they are not wanting to participate in the custom. If they stood up an yelled profanities, or flipped the bird, or mooned .. maybe. But choosing to be still and quiet? Nothing offensive about it and not a big deal to be made of it. |

I'm a vet, totally support and agree with what you are saying msharmony! I come from a long line of military. The flag was on my dad's casket. Everyone has a right to their feelings. I feel it is disrespect. They are using the anthem to hide behind. It is a protest over (who knows) that has nothing to do with the anthem, flag or football. Their protest message has been lost because of it. Everyone is focusing on the anthem, not whatever they are protesting |

That is an opinion, not fact. To many it does matter. They are hiding behind the anthem to protest. To me, they are cowards Since it isn't about the anthem, they shouldn't use it or excuse it |

It is hard to hide behind something with no mass or form to hide behind. |
