oh, movie makers and theaters deciding upon what movies to show is nothing new,, nothing particularly liberal or conservative,,

just business and its bottom line


I don't know msharmony, I read the article karmafury posted, and I'm thinking there's more to it then "just business". It seems more like they decided to take it off the list for fear that their theater would be burnt to the ground if they didn't.

They were getting complaints about the movie being racist and putting plantation life in a positive light. With all the other stuff that's going on with destroying statues, it makes sense that they didn't want their theater destroyed...so they submitted to the protestors, in order to hold on to their investment.

At least that's how it appears to me from what I read.


Well if the theater burns to the ground, or there are so many protesters that people don't bother to go in, that would affect the bottom line, so Harmony is correct on the financial part even if owner feel it was forced on them.

I see your point, you're right. If that's what happened, that's a shame....but as msharmony put it, it's business.
