Andy Warhol: assembly line producer, or genius?

Andy Warhol to some took advantage of the true meaning of art. He spent little time making art and “mass produced” his art at times. Others say his work was incredible and changed the production industry by showing that some of the best work is done naturally. Sometimes we have to take our time in developing what one calls “art”. The word “art” gets thrown around, we take it for granted. Art is a good way to express ourselves; do we not have patience to produce an example of our character that one will see years later? I believe true art takes only time, not the ability to film a “movie”.
The Mona Lisa was started around 1502, believed to be finished shortly after 1519. 17 years for Leonardo Da Vinci to create such a piece of art work. Andy Warhol took 15 minutes to produce some of his shorter movies. One of his longer movies “sleep” involved a man sleeping for 6 ½ hours. We define this as art work? Is this ingenious? Or is this merely a way to capitalize off of the American society?
The definition of the word Art as described in The Free Dictionary is: High quality of conception or execution, as found in works of beauty; aesthetic value. Realize that modern society today is not concerned in how long a piece take but how many pieces of work can be accomplished in a given time. We have assembly lines: to increase the production of auto-mobiles, E-Mail: to save time sending a letter through the postal system, quotas: to make sure a specific sales goal is met. I have not seen the art work in building as I have seen in pictures from the classical age, what has happened? Are we more concerned about time equaling money rather than the quality of work to produce satisfying results?
As well we have “Fast Food” chains. Are we getting a good quality meal? Have we as American society forgot about the quality “sit-down and eat as a family” meal? This is all true, now because times are changing, should art work? I don’t believe I should applaud when someone as Andy Warhol becomes a victim to the typical actions that we now see daily. Andy Warhol got most of his credit because he was one of the first to focus on quantity over quality.

May I ask as to how these papers are supposed to be formatted...?

Word count?

It appears a little light on, is there a requirement for in text citations, and referencing?

I am finding this more like a junior high school paper, no disrespect intended, and am not sure I can critique the body of it, without knowing the format..

There is no thesis statement, no introduction, body, or closing...

It is very different to what I am accustomed to writing, so I don't know if I can help.

"this most of my paper " as well as this is my own opinion. and the sites dont require a typical "works citied" but a not letting the teacher where i got the information from, which i happen to do...

--- I believe true art takes only time, not the ability to film a “movie”. is my thesis statment, not the typicall "through out this paper i will show you how andy warhol is mass producing his movies for monetary gain".. The thesis speaks for it self i believe...

I am attempting to explain how as society is growing, we are doing things much quicker, and capitalizing in such a way. We dont care about quality as much and are more focused on the good deal rather than the beauty and time spend on somthing. im tired of people mass producing everything, why cant we slow down and take our time?

1. find your thesis statement.

2. within the introductory paragraph out line each topic, relevant to the subject you wish to discuss. Do NOT add in a few extra, without outlining them in the introduction.

3. Discuss each point made within the introductory paragraph, using a separate paragraph for each point of your discussion.
Include references, intext citations, and correct form of referencing.

4. Be aware of using an introductory sentence in the end of each paragraph, to introduce the next, creating a 'tie in' between paragraphs, which 'leads' the reader onto the next subject or point.

In closing, reinstate all points made within introduction, and paragraphs, and close with a reiteration of the thesis statement, to conclude your discussion paper.

Taken from my head, as taught over many years of writing academic papers.

Double space between paragraphs....it makes it easier to read, and to see what is trying to be explained, even on this site...

It creates ease of reading, and understanding.
