I have received worthwhile advice in response to some of my previous posts on here, and have always considered it as friendly advice even though they were not friends as such. Maybe friendship is similar to dating, until you meet up you cannot be certain you are friends, it's an LDF, a long distance friendship. |

What is the point of online friends? Should they be as supportive as real friends or are they just plastic so you can say "look how many people like me "? Should online friends support you? Or should they keep quiet so they don't upset another friend? For me I'm treat all people the same with love, respect, integrity and consideration whether they are on here or in front of me. I don't think they should be treated any different because you can't see them in person. You should treat people how you would want them to treat you in return. |

When I speak with someone online, for me it's like we are face to face. At least that's how I treat it. |

Thank you all for your comments.
I also think some friends can be very over powering, meaning you are scared to have a point of view or correct them if you think they are wrong in fear of upsetting them. |

Friendship comes in different forms over different mediums.
Simple as that. It's a tad vulgar to be so dismissive of forms that you may not understand. |

Or should they keep quiet so they don't upset another friend? ************************************************** Hi there Mike...That's my 2 cents with online friends or friendship. In my whole time being on Mingle, I honestly feel I have made ONLY 2 SPECIAL friends, close contact/s & connection/s, felt the vibes and could relate to mutual thinking, beliefs, morals & principles, plus minus 1 or 2 added. The rest of so called friends & supporters, I CAN'T EVEN COUNT THEM ON ONE HAND Friendship to me is A First thing PRIORITY. FRIENDS first, and after we can go further. ( Like the old British humour says )... LET'S GET NACKED FIRST, AND SEE WHAT'S HAPPEN LATER. Now !..Online thing from my worthless 2 cents worth. ONLINE FRIENDSHIP to me and from my personal experience on the World Wide Web at least from the year 2000 the least. IS LIKE PEEING ON YOUR OWN LEGS. YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE TO FEEL THE WORM FEELINGS. Now you know why I sometimes stop, say it, and think Good luck Mike, I mean BEST OF LUCK with online friendship |

Well let's see.....I don't belive in FB...so I don't have an account...2378 friends?!?! Really??? I doubt it....
Mingle friends??? ABSOLUTELY You see Tom, the Great thing about mingle is the investigating. Finding out if some one is real. The folks that I talk to often are few. But when we see each other online it's like catching up with a good friend. Sharing personal stuff, that you won't post on Mingle gives a closeness also. I won't advertise my close Mingle friends, because their mine....not yours....go get your own! So yes, you can have close friends....Though I personally don't call Mingle social Media...i just call it hanging with my friends. Ciao baby! ;^) Rob P.S. Big caveman hug ((((((Mz.Rosie)))))))) |

I just like to post and have a laugh .. not seeking anything but entertainment from the online mingle community ... I rely on the real world for friendships I am sure there are many sad , lonely or dysfunctional people who rely on online friendships as their only form of socialisation .... or their only way to feel connected or loved .. I find that extremely sad . As for upsetting friends online .. that sounds like playschool behaviour .. I am going to sulk because you talk to her and you are supposed to be my friend .. laughing do people still do that .. really ..surely not !!!!! As for the online friend tool and friend request would be great to turn that feature off .. I never use it .. it is such a random tool Thanks blondey, me too, but do struggle with some understanding my British sense of humour |
