Thank you for sharing everyone...I am transported by your stories flowerforyou

YES the ocean ... sigh ... just to be near it ... I feel 'home' somehow ....

...and the smell the first time I got off the plane in Hawaii ... the fragrance of flowers everywhere ....I was 12 and will never forget it ...

...and the air in the Rockies ... it just ... sounds different. All at once I am incredibly big and incredibly small ...

My favorite sound is the Heart beat of a new born child laying upon your chest For the first time,,,, Soft yet rapid at times,,, breath taking,, My grandson Kalani Was born this morning and holding in my arms bare skinned just
Listening to the touch of his heart beat against my chest,,, Tears overwhelmed me

The smell of wet rocks or cement brings back memories of times
My father and I would skip rocks at the creek not to far from our house On a rainy day… memories of me and dad enjoying the early morning Sunrise…

Earl grey tea such a taste of pleasure, times when Mom and I spent Late nights talking and holding each other when she was ill,, days Before she passed..

One of the most cherished sounds for me would be any of the times I overhear my children using good judgement... evidences of them being good people... to hear that brings forth so many wonderful feelings within...

The concert of nature, in or near a forest, as the night brings a close to the day... and once again as birds begin to say good morning...

A rushing river...

A trickling stream...

A steady rain...

The sound of one voice in my ear...

my favs

my 3 sons laughter is by far the most joyous sound there is. it makes me smile no matter what mood i may be in.

i love hearing my 14 year olds laughter when he is hangin out with a group "teenagers". it shows how he is growing and maturing in the world. i also like the sound of his voice when a grl calls the house for him. he lowers it a lil i think...lol

i also love to hear the sound of rain on the roof and all the sounds of a thunderstorm...the thunder, the sound of the wind in the trees, oh and the sight of the lightening. oh how i love storms. my boys inhierted this from me also.

my fav site is seeing them playing contently in the yard for hours and hours with no squabbles or arguments...with three boys that dont happen everyday..lol. oh oh and when they sleep. i used to just sit and watch them sleep for hours when they were lil. also snow on the tree tops and the color of the leaves in the fall.

i love the smell of the air right after it rains. so crisp and clean, or the smell of fresh cut grass in the mid summers breeze. when my boys were lil i loved the smell of them after their baths. u know...that "baby smell". i also love the smell of beer on someones breath but i hate the taste of it...lol.

fav feelings i would have to say hugs. i love hugs. hugs from my boys, hugs from my friends and family, hugs from the patients i care for. hugs hugs hugs....i love big ole bear hugs. nooone can get enuff hugs.

fav tastes would have to be chocalate..lol. or eating ch chip cookies with my boys with a glass of milk.

i have to agree with all of u that has said something about heartbeats. the sound of someones heartbeat is so soothing, and conforting. it is also sad and heartbreaking when u r listening to the slow heartbeat of someone passing on.

I love coming home to the sound of the church bells ringing. I'm not especially a religious person, but i like hearing them. It's peaceful.

The sound of a band playing it's collective posterior off onstage, loud, raw emotional...
The last scream in "Be Safe" by the Cribs, done by one of the band members under Lee Ranaldo's incredible spoken word piece.
A nitromethane injected blown Top Fuel Hemi. Sound AND smell
The smell of the drag strip on any given Saturday...tire smoke, racing gas, and methanol...

Taste...The food at Lopez in Cleveland Heights...never, ever anything bad there.

We are sensory beings ... each unique and fascinating ...

we store memories by way of our senses...without the senses, there is no experiencing...

What is your favourite sound? What does it bring up for you?

What is your favourite smell? What does it remind you of?

Do tastes take you to another place and time?

My favorite sound is the ocean, it reminds me of peace and serenity.

Another favorite sound is the purring of a cat, it reminds me of a motor, but it's soothing for some reason.

My favorite smell is cinnamon, it reminds me of Christmas.

My favorite taste is steak, it reminds me of my mothers cooking for some reason, I don't know why. I guess it's becuase when I was younger I didn't like meat, but my mom would cook alot of steak, she got me to try it one time, and I loved it from then on.

My favorite sounds are many...the laughter of children, a heart beat, rain upon the leaves, the gentle song of a creek, the inhalations and exhalations of a lover laying next to me as he sleeps,an Aussie accent as it whispers through space and time to reach my soul, the laughter or friends though never before heard I hear it in my soul, wind in the trees, the roar of a Harley as it first starts(sends a chill down my spine and causes my heart to beat faster),my mothers voice as it echoes through my soul, the sound of some one biting into a Rolo, the soft purr of my many cats as they lay sleeping with me in my bed,the neigh and whinny of a horse(it stirs a primal force in me bringing me back into my past lives),my fathers deep rich timbre as he says I love you to my step mother, the gentle North Carolina twang of my brothers voice, the sea as it crashes over me,the clicking and clacking of the keys as I write away my pain.

My favorite scents..they too are many, the smell of a newborn baby, the scent of fall in the air, smoke from a woodstove, fresh cut grass, cinnamon, patchouli, the scent of oil & gas from a Harley( you will never understand this unless its in your blood)
coffee first thing in the morning, the scent of a cigarette when first lit,the scent of puppies, horse manure, calves breath(smells so sweet, mothers milk)the scent of rain(each seasons rain smells differently),the pages of an old book, the scent of new paper with fresh ink upon it,the scent of fresh dirt as you turn it over in spring, old hay, leather, the scent of him when he comes from the field on a hot summer day(sweat mingling with Polo),freshly crushed sage

My favorite tastes..again there are many..the first bite into the first tomato of the season, the taste of him as he comes in from the field on a hot summer day( sweat mingled with Polo), the taste of his kiss after he has eaten a raspberry( I can taste the sun, the raspberry and him all at once) ,cold crisp spring water as it flows from the spring on a hot summer day,my mother's fried chicken,a Rolo as it melts slowly upon my tongue, mangoes eaten slowly and sensuously,a tart cherry as it bursts across my tongue, his kiss after being outside in the winter chill(so crisp and clean),the taste of his essence as it glides fluidly down my throat, the taste of the first snow,a strawberry as it has been warmed by the sun all day

All of these sounds, scents and tastes bring me back in time to memorable moments and moments yet to be made, they are the essence of my being

Open the bedroom window, listen to the rain come down, smell the clean scent that it brings.
