i have also found what i was looking for....Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour but i still study other religions. Not because i am looking for anything else, but b/c i enjoy it. i love to learn.

I believe to learn who,what and why satan/helel is. To know your enemy is good in the long run. Yahshua before he started his ministry starving answered satans questions. He was sure in what he knew and satan could not change that. The man of sin who wil decieve the whole world comes as an angel of light. Doesn’t it seem strange that people are always talking about the sins of man and how man is always at war with his brothers, yet obviously the gods were at war with each other long before man ever came on the scene?

God seems to be in a constant battle with Satan all the time, even though it’s claimed that there’s no competiton in that God could deal with Satan any time he wishes.

Doesn’t this fly in the face that mankind was responsible for introducing sin????

Seems like sin was around long before man was ever invented. Maybe this should have been posted in rambill’s inconsistency thread, but this is the thread that sparked my thoughts on the matter.

I do too. But then I don't believe in Satan.

At least not as an actual entity.

Some people have suggested that Satan actually refers to the ego of men. In that context the concept of Satan makes sense because the ego of man is very real.

However, that would fly in the face of Satan having been a fallen angel. So I'm not sure if it really makes much sense to bother calling the ego "Satan", why not just call it the ego.

I'm glad you posted it. I've read some about these beliefs. Like a lot of people I've seen some cable shows about them too.

I actually find some good things about these faiths and of course, some things I don't have the capacity to follow.

One of the things I don't understand about these faiths is all the ritual. I understand a 'teaching' or doctrine, but do know why or how all the rituals became a part of the doctrine?

I just find rituals so "mind-setting", in other words, like brainwashing. I can't understand why they would necessary.

Any clues?
