Ms Harmony, Wow, your mother Waa stopped I would of been very upset. and a warning. Why?.. my mother was stopped too.. why?.. because she is a bad driver.. that's why. she is white.. the cop was white. He gave her a lecture and a warning. Stop with the race cards already... getting thin. stop with the denying it exists,, getting thin too difference is, if my mother was driving poorly, that would be the reason given,, since it wasnt,, its not the same situation ,,, People play the race card a lot. Put yourself in a cops place when they get a general description (hello McFly....more than just race). You try it I have already conceded a difference between following an ACTUAL description of an ACTUAL suspect, and general profiling. people do cry wolf alot, be it with rape or racism but people also actually EXPERIENCE what they claim they have |

YellowRose10, No N o No , I agree its not always the race card but race will always be a factor to a lot of people it was founded on fascism. when America stop racism & all the other isms then we can eliminate the race card. Racism is in all races. Not just poor me I am black. Guess what...happens in all races not systemically in AMERICA, it doesnt only on individual basis is it in 'all races' here individual racism and systemic are different animals,,,, |

profiling is a general term, sometimes its used for a specific known suspect, and sometimes it is used in general against a group the latter is the part that gives problems and encites discussion and protest |

Ms Harmony, So in your mothers case it was just a routine stop?...... lol, no idea he literally put on the lights, we pulled over he came up and asked her if she knew that she had decreased her speed, and she asked if it was illegal to decrease speed on an exit ramp he then took her license and came back and told her he noticed she was talking,,,to other passengers, while driving,, she confirmed that she was he 'warned' her to pay attention to her speeds and let her go with a 'warning' it happened to be a new luxury car,, but maybe that had nothing to do with it either,,,

Your mother got pulled over.. were you in the car?.. do you know exactly what happened to make the cop pull her over?.. do you?.. no.. you are going by what your mother states. but right away it was because she was black. well last year when I was stopped I learned the art of survival. see if I really let that cop have it I might end up in jail for assaulting police officer or dead shot down. its a classic case of when the cat's away then the mice will come out to play. |

My brother was stopped again visiting us in Las Vegas. He is a doctor, trimmed hair, manicure, walking with a BOOK in his hands. The cop stopped and asked him for ID and tried his best to get him in the car, but my brother (who is also ex military) knew his rights and knew the right questions to ask (am I being detained, am I under arrest) to cut it short and be let on his way. |

So profiling is wrong? Look at thw the other side. They have a general description. Race, height, Weight, body build, general area. What should they do? Ridiculous. If they didn't question people (based on a description) someone qould get away qith it. It isn't all about race. Come on. I come from a military and cop family...long line. What would you do? It's easy to whine and state profiling. God forbid they do their job there is a difference between profiling based upon a DESCRIPTION of someone in a crime and profiling in general IF there is a blonde haired blue eyed (white) male with a bloody blue shirt leaving the scene of a batter,, its makes sense to 'profile' based upon an actual description of a REAL witnessed offender if there is a dread wearing dark skinned man with tats driving a shiny new car,,,,it doesnt make sense to 'profile' him as suspicious and pull him over if he is not known to have broken a law or been witnessed breaking the law by someone  
i think you forget was a cops job is - to stop crime, enforce the law... it may not be fair, but people that look suspicious to the police will probably get pulled over at some point... but i see like this - if we, as citizens, know our local laws then we can have a leg to stand on when something like this happens... i think EYE said something about not being a hothead, but get knowledge rather than brute... thats what all people need to do, is get smarter and quit trying to fight the police... everything they do has to go through a court of law, and the lawyers and judges know if the cops are wrong/breaking the laws... |
