Ok, I have a Dell Latitude C600 (i know, ancient rite?) and my burner has burned out. I want to purchase a new one, I saw a couple on Amazon but I cannot figure out which one I need, and I dont want the wrong one. I looked up the device in my Control Panel and it read "TSST corp CDRW/DVD TSL452C" I put all that in to the search menu, I guess it's just not made anymore, so I guess I need to know what else will be compatible with my computer so I can get the right thing.

Thanks so much!

Dell Latitude C600 is a laptop.

Fortunately, most (if not all) laptop CD drives (including burners, dvd drive etc etc) conform to a standard.

I can't see you having a problem, but post a link to the drive you want to purchase first, and I'm sure someone will have a look.

If you want to play it very safe, you could but an external CD drive. You shouldn't have any problems running one on > Windows 98.
