Early Mornings

Arising from the a night’s restful slumber in my warm and comfy bed
Still clad in PJ’s while thoughts about the day are dancing in my head,

I cherish the morning in my porch swing, coffee mug in hand
Time for retrospection before I meet the days’ demands.

The coolness of the morning refreshing on my skin.
A cool breeze that causes me a chill every now and then.

The clear and cheerful sounds of the birds fluttering in the sky
Neighbors on their way to work wave a friendly ‘Hi’.

The cool dampness of the grass upon my bare warm feet
As I walk down toward the garden; just want to take a peek.

Walking back, I down the last of the coffee in my old, chipped and favorite cup.
I love these early morning risings and I hate to give them up.

I am always amazed how this time, all too short in it’s duration
Remains so abundant with thought and rejuvenation.

I thought it was pretty good myself. I could picture everything, right down to the cool damp grass on your bare warm feet. That is so picturesque...you put the picture in people's mind, even the favorite coffee cup. You did really except one thing....why would you want to give them up? It's always nice to smell the morning air, and listen to the birds. Very good. DO more.

Now you know why they double dog dared ya, amazing how people see what we ourselves have overlooked.

Humm well myself thought it was great poetry is what is within the heart and wrote in so many differt styles both of you ladies should write more often shshshshs see what you are making us miss out on by keeping your words within.
