Topic: Hitch Hikers Guide To The Universe | |

I remember seeing the book but never read it but recently got to watch the movie. I thought it was awesome. I especially liked the idea of hooking up to a spaceship with just one's thumb out.

I read all the books, they are funny as hell, and they go on alot more adventures than they did in the movie. The movie was great too!

All the books? There are more than one? That does sound interesting.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the GALAXY, not the Universe. If just this one, single galaxy is as insane as that, I don't even want to THINK about the entire universe... O_O
Am I the only one who found the reception to the Hitchhiker's Guide movie amazing? Both fans and non-fans both loved it and hated it with a passion. *lol* |

I liked the idea of earth 2. I thought that long monorail was cool.

O_O Am I the only one who found the reception to the Hitchhiker's Guide movie amazing? Just like how the BBC radio show was different from the books as well. The only thing I didn't like about it was Beeblebrox didn't have both heads at the same time and didn't argue with himself. |

I think that is what they call a cult classic. Speaking of which I thought the robot with the big head sounded a lot like the English guy who played on Galaxy Quest. "By Grabthar's hammer, by the sons of Warvan, you shall be avenged!".

Alan Rickman as Severus Snape in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Marvin the Paranoid Android. Wow, I bet he was a serious actor at one time.

i liked the book so much !! it was that 5 in 1 one, thick like an encyclopedia. it was very cleverly written also i loved the humour in it. i have watched the movie twice too.
i think this novel is a milestone in the sci-fi history. i was surprised to find out that before the book, this was a radio show. interesting.. |

as far as i know, there are 6 of them
but my friends said that the 6th one was not worth reading for some reason i cannot remember now. maybe it was sthng like a summary or sthng totally dependent from the first 5 books. anyway the big collection book has the 5 of them together, does not put the 6th one together with the first 5. so there may be a reason.. |

oh sorry, you wrote, "one was never aired" so the other 2 were aired.. yea, 2 were aired... all it said why the 1 wasn't was for "industry disputes"... whatever that means... "The Pirate Planet" (the second serial in the "Key to Time" arc, in season 16) "City of Death" (with producer Graham Williams, from an original storyline by writer David Fisher. It was transmitted under the pseudonym "David Agnew") "Shada" (only partially filmed; not televised due to industry disputes) he was also in 2 episodes of MP flying circus... Douglas Adams in his first Monty Python appearance, in full surgeon's garb |
