I was once introduced as " I'd like you to meet the man in my life"

I liked it , it made me feel proud I was a part of her life and she wanted them to know it. Hope this helps

I like that very much. I think I'll use it when (if?) the need arises again.

I can relate Nick. From one Irish lass to another...May the luck of the Irish send blessings to you and that changes one day soon. Cute kid picks in your profile by the way.

Oh, and then there are the ones that want to spend the evening telling you everything they loved and hated about their ex, and then compare you to them...noway

I cannot understand why anyone would do this. The last thing I want to talk about with a lady I am interested in is my ex. It's also the last thing I would want to hear. Extremely disrespectful!grumble All you southerner's(you all are that to me, ha ha) have a great night. I'm off to see a good blues band on my own tonight. Love the music! Don't "need" company to do that. It would be nice to take a woman with me, but unfortunately I get to go solo this time. I'm pretty independent so it doesn't bother me much. It's the music I'm out for and maybe a few dances with a pretty lady if things go well. Best of luck to you all in your quest to find that special someone.happy

Hope you have Fun Gork. Guys are lucky about being able to just go out solo like that. I know some women do but I'm sure the majority don't. I know I couldn't.

And Looking... Thanks for the Offer my Man! happy

Did you ever have a terrible first date, but still go on a second one because they were nice, only for it to be much better and work out for a while?

I always introduce a man that I am on a date with as "my special friend"

Some day I hope I will be able to introduce a special friend as "my Sweetheart"

I've said, this is my sweetheart before too. That is much better than boyfriend to me at this age. The guy didn't like it much. I guess it depends on the guy and the relationship we have.

That's great. If the person is nice, and there is an attraction, even if the first date goes lousy, I usually try for at least a 2nd date to see how it may go because everyone is nervous and maybe a little awkward on a first date. That's why I really try to get to know someone more before that first date. It helps avoid the awkwardness.

Everyone around here always refers to their significant other as their partner...

But I think that also has to do with there are a lot of lesbian and gays in this area and so it's more general. *Shrug*

I guess it depends on the guy and the nature of the relationship on what is a comfortable way to introduce them.

And... Great Pictures Fade2... I hope I look as good at 57. flowerforyou
