Had to take my inservice and get my flu shot so I could get my paycheck yesterday. Why don't they just hold a gun up to one's head?

ive had that done, its not a big needle, just a dye into a vein . the deep i/m ones which i have done all the time sre big, but still arnt bad. i hated needles, but ive had to have so many im not so scared anymore. ive got a test in a few weeks where i have to have 3 needles.

How can they do that Roy? That's blackmail!

I can't stand the idea of needles and I have two dentist appointments next week.

Hi guys! I'm back. Made it thru without crying (much LOL). I probably would have been okay except of course nothing ever goes easy for me so after the third attempt at getting the needle in the joint failed, she called another doctor. Damn!

If it was a regular shot or getting blood drawn I could deal but a huge a** needle jammed in your shoulder is another thing. And my fear is because of a bad experience when I was a child. If I could get over it I would obviously, it's subconscious. I can't control shaking and sweating. You're in health care and don't know about involuntary responses to stress? I feel sorry for your patients. Maybe you should transfer to the morgue where your patients won't be so whiny.

When they pull the needle out, just close your eyes and think of puppies and kittens. Nothing in the world is cuter than a puppy or kitten (tho kittens are waaaayyy cuter than puppies ever will be) lol

Okay people. Give Dreamlynn some breathing room here. I mean, she stated her opinion, and as much as I disagree with her opinion, she is entitled to it. But, yeah, I think we learned a valuable lesson from Dreamlynn.....don't post about needles on JSH cause that topic pisses her off.

Anyways, MissWright, you know I am glad that you made it through this. I don't care for needles either, but I have to take a shot once a month, so I just grin and bear it. I would hate to be like Twilight and have to take a shot every 12 hours. I shudder at that thought. But, the main thing is, you made it through. Kudos babe.

Never get a flu shot cause I'm sceared of needles. I managed just fine getting the flu without getting the sceary needle. I've been sick all week.
