Michelle Obama Says Americans Have 'No Hope' After Trump Elected
Michelle Obama fed her husband's feud with Donald Trump on Friday as she gave a gloomy description of the hopeless climate his election win has created. The First Lady used her final interview in the White House to tell Oprah Winfrey that a 'grown up' should be in charge of the country. Looking forward to president-elect Trump's looming inauguration, she said even though hope was lost, it was necessary to move on. 'Now we're feeling what not having hope feels like. Hope is necessary,' she said in her first direct response to the November 9 election result. Mrs Obama's remarks come within hours of her husband's announcement Russian hackers interfered with the election to help his successor. Trump, who is yet to accept the DNC hack was orchestrated by one of Putin's agencies, undermined the announcement on Twitter. In her interview with Oprah, the First Lady said the president needs to be someone 'who can say to you in times of crisis and turmoil: "hey, it's gonna be ok"'. The one-on-one took place ahead of the first family's departure from The White House to Hawaii where they will enjoy a two-week Christmas break. Good grief! ![]() |

and there is not |

Michelle Obama Says Americans Have 'No Hope'
But I thought Obama was supposed to supply all the hope and change we can believe in? What happened with that? Is it that fragile? Or did he really not do anything to offer any real hope or change? ...Is he going to be like a crack dealer now? "You got a taste of hope on the campaign trail back in 2008, whatcha gonna give me for another taste folks?" The First Lady used her final interview in the White House to tell Oprah Winfrey that a 'grown up' should be in charge of the country.
Didn't the Obama's give the Queen an iPod, and Gordon Brown DVD's that don't even play in the UK, Michelle violating etiquette putting her arm around the queen, not to mention all of the gaffes done by her husband and Joe Biden? I don't think Michelle Obama should be critiquing anyone's "presidential" behavior, at least without criticizing the behavior of her husband and his cabinet. 'Now we're feeling what not having hope feels like. Hope is necessary,' she said in her first direct response to the November 9 election result.
Lots of people felt all kinds of hope back in 2008. Enough to vote for her husband. Not much positive came from it. I don't think having hope is "necessary." I have hope I never have to hear from/about the first mooch anymore. In her interview with Oprah, the First Lady said the president needs to be someone 'who can say to you in times of crisis and turmoil: "hey, it's gonna be ok"'.
And she used to be a lawyer? I don't think she understands what the president of the United States does or the purpose of the office. Or maybe she does. Hopefully Trump will be the last president based solely on celebrity and the not much lesser of evils. Ooops! There's that hope word again! |
