The way I see it you have a few options:

1. Hire a duct cleaning service to come in and sweep your vents.

2. Purchase or rent the tools needed for you to clean your vents yourself.

3. Locate said corpse by elimination and remove the vent to clean it.

4. Try to cover the stench with industrial deodorizers until the corpse fully disintegrates.

5. Do nothing. The smell will diminish over time as the liquid remains causing the smell evaporate.

Though I think coffee sounds a healthier option

Coffee is usually always the solution.

More coffee please!

I had one die in my kitchen once. I had to remove every cabinet one by one to find it. The stench was so strong, and so widespread, I couldn't locate it any other way. Naturally, it was under the very last, and most difficult to remove one.

Two full days of labor, and a lot of the usual small injuries that go with do-it-yourself stuff. I'm sure it would have cost thousands to hire it done.

Send a crow up the vent.
They love road kill.
Duct dead shouldn't be much different.

Wait until the zombie plague, and the mouse will walk out on its own.

There are sonic pest repellers that you just plug into the wall socket and 24 hours a day send out an irritating high frequency sound that critters like this avoid ...

the sound waves are usually only good for the size of the room as curtains block the vibrations as well.

I had them climbing in the walls and put a wired outlet into the attic crawl space.

Plugged it in .. and claws on wood hauling *** was the next sound I hear.

So one went into the garage and back porch as concrete floors and clear walls make the sound bounce further.

Not a problem with them since ... no pesticides ... no traps ... no problems ... as the cats are just avoided by them using the tunnels they dig.

Costs about 12 cents a year for one of them to operate.

Oh .... you can get them at the Farm Ranch Supply store easily enough.
