I just was reading an awesome thread entitled - "Is it possible to talk with a guy and not have him wanting to show me his ...(you can guess)" - http://mingle2.com/topic/508752 .

It was very entertaining reading. But there was a very valid point near the top of the thread. That is, we often attract what we don't want.

In that thread one writer pointed out specifically to the thread originator what they were doing in their profile to attract what they didn't want.

Here is what I have found on this site -
I have messaged dozens of girls. All of the ones I have heard from have been frauds. Let me explain.

Immediately they ask to move to email, text or other. I prefer text. You'll see why in a sec. We text a bit and I suggest that I'll call her. Oh no. My phone doesn't do voice or similar story.
I call their number anyway and it is always a service that converts text to email. They will always have a reason why they can not talk or meet.

Eventually (3 out of 4, that I've let go this far) they will ask for money. The 4th suddenly "moved away" and I ended the interaction there.

I have had 4 more girls start the process, but once I found the text/email service I ended the interaction.

Please look at my profile. What am I doing to attract this? Or... is there something up with this dating site?

I am queer, sorry? There are many girls and guys out here who are looking for love, not money. You should ask yourself, no offence, are you attracting these kind of girls? Which, I don't have a problem with, we all have are own journey, no judging.

Yeah, I get a lot of guys that want to talk off line right away. I don't do that.

I don't give out my number to scammers. It costs money to change my phone number every time.

I don't think you have to do anything to attract the scammers. They will try everything even when warned not to try.

Just as there s nothing that can stop men who are looking for quick hook-ups from trying. Regardless what's in the profile.

And it is not Mingle's fault. It has nothing to do with this particular site. There are scammers and game players on different kinds of sites all over the Net.

Stay sharp, block and report them and focus on real people. You found the right place to begin. The forums.

Yup. One reason I search any number given me on google and ask search engines. If it is a non_fixed viop number I will never text it. 75 percent of the time it's a scammer. 25 percent of the time it's a cam gal that wants me join their site. Nope not going to happen.

Yes, it's really hard to stop these scammers from sending us messages. We have to be more alert and sharp, ask more questions and request for video chat.

Any time you receive this type of mail please Report it to Admin. In order to report the e-mail look at the bottom right corner and you will see report this user. Please take time to follow the steps to report the member. Admin will take time to look into the e-mails and if in fact they are crossing the site rules Admin will deal with them according to our rules. Members are not allowed to harass others even in e-mail.

So please report and let Admin deal with them. Also as others have said block them they will not know they have been blocked they will just think you are not opening their e-mails.

With that said this thread is being locked. We do not allow members to discuss e-mails they receive here within the forums. We do have a report System we ask that all members use not the forums to report members.

The site would rather not Educate the scammers therefore we ask that all incidents of scammers in e-mails be reported and not discussed on the forums..
