Trump wins Michigan's 16 electoral votes, state board says.

November 28, 2016

President-elect Donald Trump has won Michigan's 16 electoral votes.

The Board of State Canvassers certified Trump's 10,704-vote victory on Monday, nearly three weeks after the election. The two-tenths of a percentage point margin out of nearly 4.8 million votes is the closest presidential race in Michigan in more than 75 years.

Trump's win in Michigan gives the Republican 306 electoral votes to Democrat Hillary Clinton's 232.

Trump is the first Republican presidential nominee to win Michigan since 1988.

Green Party candidate Jill Stein is expected to ask for a recount. She has until Wednesday. Trump would have seven days to file objections to her request.

Trump wins Michigan's 16 electoral votes, state board says.

Doesn't really matter what the state board says.

Until the electors actually, physically, cast their votes anything could happen.

From what I understand electors could, technically, legally by the constitution, vote for someone else.

That would be almost unprecedented, especially on a wide scale.

If they did, some states may fine the electors for changing their vote and going against state law, or they may be replaced, which would be constitutional if "illegal" by state law, but it's never really gone to court to determine what happens when pledged, non faithless, electors do that.

But until the electors cast their actual votes, it doesn't really matter what the state board or anyone says.

"Real" election is Dec 19th.

As if there was a doubt. If it had been close, Hillary would have cheated. Of the few Americans that voted, it was a technical landslide. You can't Clinton your way out of that.
