Kenneth Lanning, an FBI expert in the investigation of child sexual abuse and a member of the Bureau's elite BAU unit, has stated that pseudo-satanism may exist but there is "little or no evidence for ... large-scale baby breeding, human sacrifice, and organized satanic conspiracies".

In cases where SRA is alleged to occur, Lanning describes common dynamics of the use of fear to control multiple young victims, the presence of multiple perpetrators and strange or ritualized behaviors, though allegations of crimes such as human sacrifice and cannibalism do not seem to be true. It actually really set the bar for how modern interviews and interrogations are done. I am in a Law Enforcement related field and I do Interviews and Interrogations on a regular basis and during one of my training classes they went over the Satanic Panic as a perfect example to get a false confession or royally screw up an investigation and put innocent people in jail. One of my instructors was formerly an FBI Agent and a member of the BAU, he actually came up with one of the interview and interrogation courses I am certified in. |

Oh and as for the Satanic Panic, it isn't just the FBI that debunked it, even through they were the first to come out disagreeing with other Law Enforcement Agencies.
99% of the victims have recanted their statements or have came out and said they were coached into the statement and accusations and forensic evidence has cleared the majority of suspects.
