As far as men go, they wear hats a lot. Why is that? Are you trying to cover baldness? It's one thing going out fishing but what about everyday life or on a date? I don't like hats very much but really don't like baseball caps worn all the time. If I'm going out on a date, I put on some makeup, might curl my hair a little, wear a nice top, but the guy shows up with a baseball cap. I thought it was bad etiquette for men to wear any kind of hat indoors? When men go indoors, they should remove their hat, especially military.

I don't like baseball hats especially the ones with the peak at the back. I tried to buy one once but they all had the peak at the front... hehe
I like to wear a wide brim hat if I'm going to be in the sun, the Aussie sun can get pretty hot with damaging UV rays, but never wear a hat on a date. I agree they should be removed indoors. |

The wearing of a hat would be up an individuals taste, mood, event, hair and yes, probably cover up some baldness. I'm a girl and I sometimes wear a hat (one of my fathers) and I have baseball cap as well as caps one picks up on a tropical vacation, with some logo..
That being said,.. the courtesies of wearing a hat have somehow gotten lost...It used to be that if you were in a restaurant eating out, men took off their hat at the table.. and even at home for a meal.. At Legions, you remove your hat.. You could ask your friend about the hat.. maybe he's got a collection of them.. as some guys do. |

I only wear a hat when I'm working or I know I'm going to be spending a lot of time in the sun because I don't tan, I burn, peal, and then I'm white again. Long sleeves, trousers, and a hat cuts down on the amount of sun screen I have to use to be outside for more then an hour.

I like to wear a hat when outside, keeps the sun off in Summer and the head warm in Winter. I can understand a guy wearing a hat in a fastfood cafe, but not in a restaurant, because I believe male hat etiquette as it once was has largely become a thing of the past, belonging to the last century, with some possible exceptions such as not wearing a hat indoors, this is only my opinion. |
