Nice pistols rm. I added a Century Arms TP9SF Desert 9mm Luger Pistol to my beginning collection last weekend. The price was too good to pass up. Now if the weather will cooperate I can run some rounds thru the clips. Lol.

Because we have to keep our skills sharp for the zombie apocolypse. Only head shots will do. Lol.

For some it's a way of life..

Nice looking pistol. When I started handgun shooting I was a revolver guy. With revolvers you could buy different grips to suit you. Had a bit of trouble adjusting to pistols, but as I aged it was easier. I really like the ones with different back straps so you can adjust the grip to suit you like the different grips for the revolver.

Thanks rm. It's not as nice as my .45 kimber stainless target II . but it did come with 2 back straps 2 18+1 clips and a conceal carry quick draw holster plus cleaning rods for 349 new.

The only revolver i have is a j-frame saw .38 special airweight for traveling purposes. Completely hammerless so no snagging on pocket or when you have it shoved between the seats.

The Kimber is one I consider. A Super Match II maybe. I like the Blackhawk Serpa holster for pistol and a good leather thumb break for revolver.

I've had a J frame in the past but never was able to get along with it at the range. Called it a belly gun as I needed to be able to touch something with it. I have been tempted to try a 3" model 60 S&W. I like K and L frame S&W's. I have a number of them still. Great shooters. I am not as fond of the new ones though. The transfer bar makes them sound cheap. Just love the sound and feel of a hammer mounted firing pin.

to Catinidaho: Learning to run a gun as a tool is very empowering. I was not happy just going to an indoor range and shooting, I wanted to learn to really use my handgun. I found a former Marine who is a range instructor and got individual training sessions. I learned how to use my handgun properly, how to draw, aim properly, clear a jam, and other things. I had no interest in guns when I was married to my first husband (28 years). when I realized I was responsible for my own safety, and I met my second husband and he introduced me to the indoor range and a small caliber handgun, my interest grew.

After my dear second husband died a few months ago, I gained access to his gun safe. I went back to former Marine for a handgun refresher and to learn how to shoot my hubby's AR15 and shotgun.

There are plenty of places who have women-only classes, if that is what makes some ladies more comfortable, and it's just fun. I hope this helps answer your question.

It's so important to be able to defend yourself. I took a RAD class a few years ago (Rape Aggression Defense) at our local police station. It was great! It's based on muscle memory so it can be ingrained in case you need it and have to react in an instant. It was free, open to anyone within and outside of the city limit, and it took four weeks to complete. One class a week for a month, with a final testing of an officer all padded up and we get to kick/punch/etc as hard as possible to get away. The big plus with a handgun is you can take care of the threat from a distance, hopefully. So many variables can happen in an instant. And the RAD class is open to gals as young as 13 years old. It's nationwide and I urge any lady reading this to locate a class and take it.

I used to shoot my BB gun with my dad when I was little I haven't been able to shoot since I was ten but I hope to pick it up again

Just to expand....shooting guns is also a great sport. Believe it or not, it takes a lot of practice and skill to put a bullet in a specific spot. If you dont use guns for self protection, they can be a great sport like any other sport. Some folks enjoy skiing, fishing, racing etc, shooting is another sport. Some like it, some don't. It is all good.

I need to get out to shoot a lot more than I do. I have meet and gone out with someone through this site but so far I have not found anyone to go shooting with.
