The tax payers aren't responsible. The parents are. The kid won't starve from a cheese sandwich and fruit. Teaches responsibility. Maybe the parents in that district should take care of their kids. Don't stick others with the tab if someone choses to have a child. That worker already quit. |

um, no, they should not
but if a worker, gives it to them anyway,, THEY (The worker) should be accountable for the bill |

I raised my son as a single mom. My mom raised 2 as a single mom. We took care of our own. If that traumatized that child that much, he better learn to get over it. I forgot my lunch twice. I learned to be more responsible. My mom learned to make sure I had something. We didn't rely on others. The tax payers shouldn't pay that dead beat debt

this is not about taxpayers
its about an employee error, and the employee should be held responsible,,, they cant serve that meal to anyone else, so they are out the money either way,, and the one that caused the meal to not be usable was THE EMPLOYEE not the parents or the child |

Look at what the debt was before. Someone had to pay |

Maybe she can barely afford to feed her own family let alone feed kids because the parents aren't responsible |

Do those kids, who might be struggling too, get free lunches? |

My niece is a 7th grade math teacher at a middle class school and still uses her income to keep supplies in the class. I always made sure my son had what he needed. Time for those parents to step it up

Had to go back and get a sandwich. Never hurt me at all. People make mistakes. Most of the servers don't take the money these days and she may not have known. The parents should have kept on top of it |

parents cant keep on top of what workers will do
at the end of the day,, food costs money that was money owed whether the kid ate or didnt and the parents shouldnt be responsible for food the kid didnt get so who owes the money? our cherished 'taxpayers' its cutting off the nose to spite the face to just throw that meal away so that taxpayers dont get stuck the options are to let the kid eat and add it to the parents charge or throw it away and charge the employee for wasting it |

Part of being a parent. The parents owe the money! It's their kid |
