Black Live Matter leader robbed, calls for more cops
A University of Houston grad student active in the local Black Lives Matter movement is suddenly all for police patrols in his neighborhood — after he was robbed at gunpoint outside his apartment.
Jerry Ford Jr., described as one the leaders of the BLM movement on campus, tells KTRK that he spotted the young man loitering outside his apartment one evening last week but thought little of it. But when he went to unlock the door, the man pulled a gun and stole Ford’s wallet and cell phone.
Ford lives at an apartment complex just a few blocks from the UH campus in an area that has seen a spate of robberies and thefts in recent weeks, including the burglary of dozens of vehicles. Because the housing is off-campus, it is not patrolled by University of Houston police officers. Ford says that needs to change.
“I hope they would take a bigger stance and put more security over here because you have a lot of people walking back and forth to class,” he told the station.
Ford is one of the leaders of the Houston chapter of Black Lives Matter. The group has, among other things, supported the divestment of police forces around the country and diversion of the funding to projects in support of the black community.

Well of course. They whine that police are targeting all blacks for the actions of some but what are they doing? Protesting all police (putting all in more danger btw) for the actions of a fee. After the Dallas shooting where several lost their lives, a funeral for a fallen officer passed through my home town. As I was driving, I saw trash protesting and wanting donations. For what? What did that officer do for his memory and his loved ones to protest? Damned if I donated but I even told them blue lives matter too.

They are targeting all cops for the bad of a few. Their jobs are dangerous enough. Glad to hear recruiting is up for the police here.

While I'm aware not all cops are authoritative, narcissistic bullies and extortionists, he's stupid to think that having more cops around will eventually make the place safer. While cops would be patrolling the area more often, there are some situations where someone does get robbed, jumped, harassed, etc when the cops aren't around, which means they'll only have a few leads on the culprit. When you see one of the cops parked near one of the campus roads and watching for any would-be speeders, they're often out to fill ticket quotas. You can make the claim that they're trying to improve road safety, but the fact that they get paid, and they're just waiting to pull someone over, somewhat reinforces the controversy about cops getting paid more if they bust more people. Also, if there are reoccurring problems going on somewhere, most cops honestly think the best solution is to create checkpoints, which violates the right to unreasonable search and seizure.

If this guy wasn't a part of Black Lives Matter, and wanted to the Batman of U of H instead, then more power to him. Its better to have an individual or a group of people think outside of the box to solve problems, instead of doing as their told or using the same useless tactics.

BLM activist changes tune on police after robbery

Seems little different than anyone that seeks power, or most of the human race.

"Down with guns! Guns are bad!....except those I chose to have them."

"Obamacare law, everyone must comply!...except those staffers we exempt."

"Wall street bad! Insider trading bad!...unless you work for the government."

"You must follow GAAP or you're fined and shut down! Enron!...unless you're the government doing the same thing."

"All businesses must be transparent in their business dealings! Quarterly, monthly, weekly reports to the IRS!...unless you're the FED."

"No boots on the ground! Terrorism bad!...but no official war declared on ISIS or Syria, and we're going to keep bombing civilians, oops."

"We need to collect information to stop terrorists! Suspend rights for safety!...F' your FOIA request, we're going to have closed sessions, private email servers."

"Building a wall, especially along Mexico border, is racist!...unless you build it around the white house, help pay for one to be built around the southern border of Mexico, and make sure you always live in a gated community."

"Neighborhoods should be forced to accept low income housing! HUD mandates affordable housing in more affluent areas/suburbs for opportunity!...but not like the 'rich' rich areas."

"Do what I say, not what I do. It's better for me to seek forgiveness than permission, it's better for you to seek permission than forgiveness.
If I'm doing something or want something it's inherently okay and shouldn't be questioned, but if you want to do it then ask me permission. If it fulfills my self interest it's good, if it doesn't benefit me then it's bad.
If it's good for me, then it must be good for you, and you have to comply or else. If it's good for you, I get to decide whether or not I comply, and if I don't then no consequences.
I get the choice, I get the power, you get the responsibility."

'Blue Lives Don't Matter': College Students Demand End of Campus PD

College protesters at the University of California-Irvine recently staged a "Blue Lives Don't Matter" protest.

The students believe "it's police officers who are the problem," Elizabeth MacDonald reported on Risk & Reward.

Dozens of students at the school disrupted a discussion on police-community relations, chanting: "No justice, no peace--take to the streets; [expletive] the police".

They called for the end of the campus police department, MacDonald said.

These are "kids that are effectively feral," author Kevin Jackson said.

"They haven't been taught anything [but] the liberal narrative [on campus]."

"Blue lives do matter," he said, "[police keep] regular citizens safe."

"These kids act as if cops are out hunting black people. Cops would rather stay in the suburbs...than go and have to face the scourge of what happens in the black community."
