What can or should somebody do if they want to message a person ,but their message filter says a age limit thats techincally 1 yr. younger than you are even though you might be only months apart.

a] disreguard it, all's fair in love and war
b] try to find another person with that age requirement to message them for you
c] just move on

OK b. would freak me out. You don't know the person yet going through a third party to meet them? I wouldn't like that. Genuine thought though.
They would be able to see you looking at their profile so if they're into you they will let you know - they know what requirements they put onto their filters.

Or maybe just post a bulletin with their name as the title? ;)

actually... that happened to me once (saw a guy i'd like to talk to but i wasnt in his 'dating' range) so I sent them a friend request (which you can attach a personal message to) and explained that i wanted to talk to them but was unable to email or IM them cuz i wasnt in some of their criteria...they actually responded back to me saying they had altered their messaging requirements. I say hey give that a shot at least

first of all, (a) will not work because your email to them is blocked. (b) seems to me to be a little unethical, and not observing the desires of the other person. That leaves (c) as the only viable option imao.


or you could stalk them in the posts .... and let them know that you are interested in them and let them decide whether to allow you to email them or not. It is my understanding, perhaps wrong, that they can email you and then you can respond, but, you are blocked from initiating the conversation. If I am wrong on that, someone please correct me...shl

2good....never thought of the friend request...do as bearfan suggested..worst that will happen is they will reject it..but definitely worth an attempt. Never give up, always another way

You can send them a friend request with a personal message saying why you would like to talk to them. Really it works and if they are interested in you, they will email you back so you guys can start chatting it up. Dont give up hope just yet!

yes send the friend request... tell them that you are interested in talking with them..... if they send you an email... once an email has been sent regardless of email settings... you can correspond with them

Ok, wait a minute, a friend request is ok? then say you wanted to contact them is ethical? Thats still disreguarding their filter intentions,can't that considered stalking also ?

I don't think it's unethical or sneaky to send her a friend request. It wouldn't freak me out nearly as much as some of the stuff I get in my inbox ;)
I say try it. I sure would hate to miss out on someone just because they are a few months outside of my age range.
