Topic: Now THIS is a bad relationship | |
---|---|
From Fox News:
"A 70-year-old man accused of robbing a bank in Kansas told investigators he would rather be imprisoned than live with his wife. Court documents say Lawrence John Ripple gave a note to a bank teller in Kansas City on Friday, demanding cash and warning he had a gun. Ripple took the money and went to sit in the lobby where he told a guard he was the "guy he was looking for." Officers arrived quickly. An FBI agent wrote in the affidavit that Ripple had earlier been arguing with his wife. He told investigators he wrote the note in front of his wife, telling her he would "rather be in jail than at home." Ripple was charged with bank robbery Tuesday. Online court records don't list an attorney for Ripple." * * * * * * How far would you go to escape from a bad relationship? |

He should have stayed with the wife...I think prison imposes a stiffer penalty for "early withdrawal".

This is an extreme action by a spouse. There must be a 'living hell' situation that drove the man to prefer jail to being with his loved ones. Unless he has a history of mental imbalances.....
That said, I would submit the 'living hell ' situation could be arising from two perspectives : Torture by a hostile wife for domestic reasons. The wife must have an upper hand in the family in a very significant way. Torture by own guilt conscience for an action or omission that had dire consequences for the family. Whatever the case, this is heart breaking! The institution of marriage and family is constantly under attack. The devil knows the power of a strong and united family means havoc to his kingdom. May God have mercy on us! |

Perhaps the best punishment the judge could give out is to make him live with his wife.

Ripple was charged with bank robbery Tuesday.
So basically this guy committed a crime with a mandatory 10 year minimum sentence to get away from his wife. It costs taxpayers something like $30,000 per year to house an inmate. So instead of going online and getting free divorce papers, going to a divorce attorney, or simply leaving and not coming back, he's costing everyone else at least $300,000. That's not really funny, IMO. |
