why do we date?

Well, for a girl, we do it so that we can see their *** clean
just once before we commit to cleaning up after it for 50 years.

To form relationships.

Which has kept the species alive for such a long time we naturally feel better with them and worse without them.

Since the majority of us don't live in tiny closed communities/groups/tribes where we know every other person we will ever interact with for the rest of our lives from birth we need to interact with strangers in order to find prospective mates.

Since interactions with strangers can be extremely risky we need to communicate intentions and desires in safe, relatively neutral, comfortable settings so we don't feel threatened and can make decisions that lead to positive results.

To nurture ourselves with love <3

Because batteries are expensive unless you buy them in bulk.

In all seriousness though....
it's human nature to find a mate, to not want to be alone and to have a partner/companion.

In essence, dates are "ultra short term test marriages."

For most people, anyway.

For the "players" of the world, they are "short term test affairs," or "low cost prostitute rentals."

Boredom, loneliness, pressure from others, for fun, and/or a desire for a relationship.

We date to get to know someone we are interested in having a relationship with. Most of us don't want to spend the rest of our lives alone, we are looking for a connection with that special someone.

Because unlike some of us some people can actually find people that are willing to date them and if you're one of the latter then why not?
