Any thoughts on this classic? Anyone still think about scenes or dialog, 17 years after first viewing it? Anyone up for a basement fight? |

Maxsterx: May take a while so I hope you brought a sleeping bag. Yes, and protection from the media...be it mud or Jello. |

I feel Fight Club is one of the most important movies that has ever been made. And it is still David Fincher's best work.

...never talk about Fight Club. You got it tmh1063! The rest of us failed that! I agree, Goofball, it is a powerful movie and there are many facets of it that make it sociologically significant. Lately I've been thinking of all of the arguments or disagreements I've avoided over the years. Avoiding them for so long leads up to the desire to displace that frustration elsewhere. Hence... the joke at least of starting a co-ed fight club. |

Well Juliet, I'd like to tell you about that, but we have a rule, so,,,,,, what was the question?

From a feminist stand point I think FC really speakers to the frustration and loss of identity for an entire generation of men. I don't know it it was the authors intention but I think its a powerful gender-idendity manifesto.

Holy crap that makes me feel old. It's now a "classic?" I remember when it first came out in theaters. I remember when it came out on VHS! I remember everyone started spiking their hair. Crap. Well, at least I can remember. No dementia or Alzheimer's, yet. |
