several more to go,, leading into the presidential election
Besides eliminating voter ID requirements in North Carolina, Friday's ruling erases provisions that prohibited same-day registration and out-of-precinct provisional voting, as well as those that restricted early voting. Read the full opinion The court found that the North Carolina legislature enacted the provisions after it gathered data on the use, by race, of certain voting practices. The provisions "target African-Americans with almost surgical precision" and "impose cures for problems that did not exist," the judges wrote. more at : http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/29/politics/north-carolina-voter-id/ |

voter id should be required you need an id for almost everything even those on public assistance must have an id so it is not that big of an issue what happens when you go to vote and they tell you you already voted because someone already voted using your name and address just a thought but hey what do i know ps maybe govt id cards should be free same day voting without id cool i am going to the east coast and driving to as many states as i can and vote in everyone of them or maybe they should stick your hand in a can of paint that is nearly impossible to remove for a couple days to prevent that from happening |

I do love the idea that at 18, everyone is automatically registered, and gets a card with address and name to be verified at the voting location _____________________________________________________________________ You would still need a form of legal identification to to be " verified"... wouldn't you?. The problem with " automatic registration" at 18 is that not everyone is allowed to automatically vote. As in felons who are on probation. actually no, you don't need id to pay taxes, they track work status with an assigned ss number and know that you are supposed to pay when they come to the polls, there is a list of those assigned to vote there, show your registration card (which should be addressed to you at your address) and voila |

Roy Cooper opposes Voter ID. Yet photo IDs are required to purchase Sudafed, cash a check, board an airplane, enter a federal courtroom... or even pick up your credentials at the Democratic National Convention!
Three Democrat judges are undermining the integrity of our elections while also maligning our state. We will immediately appeal their decision to strike down our voter ID law and also review other potential options. Doesn't the requirement for an ID to enter the Democrat convention constitute an effort to keep them out? One major USA political party counts on being able to use various forms of election cheating -- phony registrations, voting in multiple precincts, voting in multiple names, voting the graveyards & mental hospitals, finding extra uncounted ballots in case a close election goes to recount, etc. That's what's behind opposition to voter I.D. requirements. Some states you can register and vote the same day..... without ID. All you need is a letter from someones trash bin |
