When I made my profile, I wrote out everything I believe I needed to.

So I'm checking my email and clicking on these georgous guys, showing I'm interested in them,right?, so here's the kicker; I failed to really pay attention to some of the sections of my profile, it stated I was a man into men; that made me mad at myself. lol,

I've fixed it; but it took a guy I clicked the like button on to tell me- that I was barking up the wrong tree.
Now I'm wondering why he'd say that?

He says "HONEY where did you get ya work done"; "you look stunning"; he then told me;" he couldn't even tell that I once had an adam's apple'.

I went off on him saying; " Baby I'm 100% all women and have birth some babies to prove it", he said; "then why does it say you're a man looking for men"?

"As I said you're barking up the wrong tree".

CTFU please tell me this hasn't only happen to me???

It happened to me too was so annoyed and had to go back and change it saying woman looking for men lol xx

Kayciie, yours is a common mistake on this site. What matters is that you caught it and corrected it.

I'm sure he thought you were transgender, a guy switching to a woman, and thought your plastic surgeon did a great job making you look like a woman. Which of course, since your already a woman.

do you think he was pulling your leg, to tell you that the profile was incorrect. just mentioning it.

I believe everybody makes mistakes and anybody could point out that to you. Be glad somebody did so you would know and correct it

I'm not sure if it makes a difference...I specifically checked man looking for woman...I actually went back and checked it...yet men show up in my searches. It's like the age ranges too. I filter the ages I'm searching for and yet I still get matches that are way too young.

You made an honest mistake. It even has a name in the online dating world.... Its called Bruce Jennering. Good think you corrected it

Have not made this mistake myself. But I have pointed it out to quite a few who have., some even thanked me!!??? Go figure??!!

Each site seems to have default choices.


On another site I use, the default is female, so there are guys showing up on my "match list" all the time.

I thought maybe that would explain why I get so many men hitting up my profile... must be some other reason..lol

When I first completed my profile and started browsing the pictures, the pictures showed up were all women. It took me a few minutes to figure out where and what to change. So yes, I have made that mistake as well.

I pointed out to a man a while back that his search was looking for a man. He thanked me, he told me he was interested in women. We messaged a few times and I tried to imply I was interested in him. He did not pick up on it, or he was not interested in me. It doesn't matter now since he has not been on here for quite a while. I'm only interested in dating men, for the record.

When I first joined, I had clicked on 'Looking for sheep'.
Caused me a few problems, but no real damage done.
