Cars... (Guns) must be taken from citizens, but it’s ‘different’ for lawmakers – they ‘deserve protection’

we have pretty stiff drunk driving laws

but I do believe we particularly should have a time period after such incidents that drivers cant be licensed or have insurance

Y'all don't have various lengths of license suspensions for DUI infractions already?
Hell, here, your license is suspended upon DUI arrest or if you refuse to take a breath test....they don't care about a conviction lol.
Doesn't matter to me, I just dont drink and drive. If there's some family emergency AFTER Ive taken just one sip from an evening toddy, they better call someone else, I ain't budging laugh
Not that license suspension matters anyway....I've worked many an accident caused by a drunk driver driving who was driving under suspension also.

I believe that, and that's packing onto the charges and consequences too

Had no drivers license to begin with and was possibly an illegal alien....

"VISTA — A 29-year-old Oceanside woman suspected of driving drunk and fatally striking a pedestrian, then driving nearly a mile away with his body wedged in her car, doesn’t have a driver’s license, according to the complaint filed against her.
Esteysi “Stacy” Sanchez, 29, pleaded not guilty Wednesday in Vista Superior Court to charges of felony driving under the influence, felony hit-and-run and gross vehicular manslaughter.
Superior Court Judge James Mangione kept Sanchez’ bail at $1.5 million. She also has an immigration hold, which means that if she were to be released she would be turned over to immigration authorities to determine whether she may be deported""

Illegal alien, no driver's license, drunk & commits vehicular manslaughter / murder.
And MAYBE deported.

Or she may get an apartment a car, a Target gift card, a gift bag, a driver's license, voters registration, welfare (at taxpayers expense) and an invitation to the White House, to talk about her plight.* sarcasm*

Aaacchh!!! frustrated

Are you kidding!

The poor woman has a disease called alcoholism!!!!!!

Before we give her everything she would have NEVER gotten from her own hard work, we need to cure her disease. Then we can promote her as a hero for coming forward and shedding more light on this problem. Just think how many people she will end up helping.

For the slow people on M2, you know whom you are, I'm being a smrt azz. Something else should happen to her.

Maybe she'll apologize, and go on a morning talk show, & the teleprompter people can tilt their head & nod & tell her how 'honorable' it is to say that.

Or maybe in a month, she'll say she is transgender. And the media can say how 'brave' she is and give her an evening gown/ tuxedo & a metal.

rant Rant over

It's sad. She is young and attractive.... and illegal. I read she was also married. Is her husband also an illegal? Children? How long had they been here? Was ID checked or what kind used at the club where she drank? She obviously had no drivers license. What of insurance to help the victims family with expenses?

What of the man she killed? Have his details been released yet? They were being withheld until family could be notified. In that area there are a lot of homeless vets.

So many things make this a tragedy..... but an avoidable one! Oblowme's weak stance on border security and failed policy like sanctuary cities among them.

I feel for ALL involved. So many victims and so much tragedy, ALL avoidable with simple solutions which have been over politicized.

I am NOT against immigration, I'm against illegal immigration and lawmakers who can't do the job s they were elected to perform in their neglect of their duties and oath to their offices and constituents..... and enforcing laws. I would rather have a few feelings hurt than read of even one more life lost or destroyed due to PC and political ignorance and malpractice!

YES! Legal Immigration is a good thing. Import productive people. Don't just open the barn doors to anything that can crawl or slither in.

Illegal acts require punishment not rewards!

I think we should ban cars or strengthen background checks!

More purposeful refusal on your part, to accurately represent anything you make sarcastic comments about, I see.

But liberals standing on the graves of the dead to threaten more legislation on the rights of law abiding legal gun owners is not?

Got it! More laws stop criminals! Someone needs to inform Chicago! laugh
