Is it possable that some of the movies from our youth that we loved so much tainted out views on them?
I bought Big trouble in little china for $5 at walmart and I popped it in and the movie truely sucked!!!
It was so badly done it's kind of laughable now, they would say a line and then the other person would explain the same thing the first guy said...lol
I had fond memories of this movie when I was younger and now I can't remember why I would ever like it so much that it boggles my mind huh .
Has this happend to anyone else where you've bought a dvd that you remember from your youth only to be baffled why you loved it so much or am I the only one?

hmmm....
i can't really think of a singe movie that i loved as a kid that i don't still love to this day. i think just the nastalgia in and of itself is enough to keep me smiling. the other night, i watched ghostbusters (one of my favs) with a friend and i hadn't watched it in a really long time. we were commenting on some of the special effects that would never cut it in today's movies but at the time were top of the line. we just found it amusing more so than disappointing.

poorly done movie
but you can still get a laugh from it
I watch it when I can

one movie I like is Awakenings (Robin Williams)

I also like old Alfred Hitchcock movies...

I figure as long as I like it what the heck
I'll just entertain myself

Oh, TRON rulz.

Seriously dude. You think Big Trouble in Little China is crap now? Cause I sure don't, and I own the DVD. I love it.

I guess if there is one movie that I liked as a kid, but can't stand now, it will have to be The Toy. Stupid movie that when I watched it a few months back, I was asking myself, "I actually liked this crappy ass film?"

I laughed through the whole thing but I still don't know why I would have fond memories like the way I did about it though.. laugh

The Blues Brothers was a bad storyline when I first fell in love with it, and it hasnt improved, but the music is still classic

Oh man. Arnold had so many great lines in Commando.

"Let off some steam Bennett."
"Stick around"
"I Lied"
"I like you Sully. Your funny. That's why I'm gonna kill you last"

Commando is just a fun movie to watch. Yeah, it is stupid how one man could do all that, but hey, this is Arnold.
