DoD remake is my absolute favorite. Yes I saw the original. I saw it BEFORE the remake. I love Romero. I HATE being accused of only liking the new one cause I'm "too young to respect the original classic", cause frankly that's a load of ****.

However the remake is simply more entertaining. I love the characters and the interaction, the scenes are fun to watch, the dialog is witty and fun, it's not too corny. Just right for me.

P.S. Go C.J.!

I looove me some zombie movies, but not a big fan of lighting fast ones that have shown up recently. I just I'm school and like the old formula better (slow zombies attack, hole up in a building, everything dies in the end) laugh

Yeah old school Zombies are awesome, the whole reason they're so scary is although they're slow their's ALOT of them so it makes it overwhelming...lol
The other reason I love Zombies is because they're already dead so you don't feel bad about splattering their brains all over the wall...lol laugh

Ok there's kind of a new rule/thinking about Zombie behavour which states that Zombies can/would only move fast if they were a new corpse because they wouldn't have so much Rigg. otherwise they would move slow because they would be so stiff in the joints.
I think that makes sense but I still like the slower overwhelming Zombies better too Damnitscloudy. bigsmile

I have to agree. It is the best remake of any horror film and it is one of the best horror films made in the past 15 years.

I have a question about zombies tho....say a living man was shot in the head. Will he come back as a zombie? Or since his brain is already shot, is he going to remain dead? laugh

Lol, that's a good Q but I think he would stay dead because there would already be trauma to the brain then again I would chop the head completely off just to be sure. LOL laugh

Okay now I am a huge horror movie buff and have acted in a few C and D class flicks myself and we follow George a Romero's versions of the zombies.

Now, I am not going to preach to the choir because the lot of ya know more together than I do alone and I may be dull but I am not daft. So anywho...

In the beginning (1930 or so) in the days of black and white Zombies were slaves brought back from the dead to do their masters bidding, they had no free will of their own. Then came a movie in the late 1980's or early 1990's [I couldn't tell you the name of it, but it has the guy who was LONESTAR in SPACE BALLS] and that revolutionized the reason that zombies were created...

[Now please feel free to correct me on this stuff, but please be nice about it]

Then came the master Mr. Romero who's new vision of the zombie's made the base for the modern era of zombies. And you have to like the new kind of zombies because they are created by him. In the old days they were terrifying because they were just so many of them. But now they are even more scary because they are able to be more agile and organize. That would freak me out... They are essentially An army of Michael Meyers's... They are now unstoppable.

Now, I have a respect for the old staples and classics but I feel that with the way movies are going now a days fast zombies are the way to go... as long as they don't start to talk, than they will just be regular bad guys and no one likes them...

Well i am going to go and pad my butt because I think I might get reemed up in the place no one has, or will, go for this post... Please when you are ripping me a new one about what I have just said... Be gentel.

LOL your a funny one Lantz. laugh
I don't disagree with fast Zombies it's just a matter of logic what I said for different resons.
you can have both types depending on how you approtch the subject, if your a newer Zombie {freshly dead} then you'll move faster but if you've been around awhile then you'll move slower I think we can all agree with the no talking rule which is part of why house of the dead sucked so much but that's another story entirely though.
I like the slower more rampint horeds more then faster because that's more freaky to me then anything else.
now what I would like to see is more kid zombies like they had in Res Evil because that would be truly creepy...lol bigsmile

The zombie animals freak me out more, like the grey cat in Pet Semetary(sp?), and the skinless dogs in the game Silent Hill (not really zombies, but they are skinless blood hounds, and thats just creepy as hell)

Finally a good thread. I love the zombie movie. All horror movies in fact. I snuck into the theater and saw ZOMBIE when I was 15. Been hooked ever since. A really good movie that deals with real zombies that has not been mentioned is The Serpent and The Rainbow. A true story about a chemist/antropologist searching for the drug used in Voodoo to create zombies. They wanted to try and use it for an anestetic. Bill Pulman stars in it. Not eat your flesh zombies but explores the Voodoo culture and the belief in real zombies.
My Favs:
Zombie
Dawn of the Dead (remake)
Shaun of the Dead
28 Days Later (love it that PETA set the virus free laugh )
Night of the Living Dead (was at the graveyard the opening scene was shot at this weekend, my grandpa is buried there it is in Alma WVa.)
Resident Evil
Return of the Living Dead (too funny)
Day of the Dead
Man too many to list. They are so much fun to watch.

I forgot Return of the living dead! All those movies are so B-Grade that its funny. I like the rave one the most, with a zombie trying to hitch hike down the road with a sign laugh
