Home at last, safe and sound-
Months of trucks and tents And sleeping on the ground. Missles firing overhead- I came home injured, Some came home dead. For our country we sacrifice Missing births of our children and time with our wives... Dust filled days seem like years- While waiting families Struggle with fear. Memories of home to keep us alive, We've been here too long, Just trying to survive. Ambushed convoys, buildings destroyed. Injured are flown out- With others are deployed... 1st Seargents who back home Coached little league- Suck down bad coffee to fight the fatigue. We do it all for the red, white and blue- Fighting for family, For me and for you... ...And Memories of home. Tressia copyright 5/2/05 |

Could not have said it better myself.
Mine was in another place from another time with the same fear just the same. Who's to say weather we live or die, on a battle field trying to survive. many sorties into a hot LZ, to fly out the wounded so that they me be. |
