VERNAL, Utah -- Four men were booked into jail on felony charges after they allegedly raped a 9-year-old girl while her mother was smoking methamphetamine in a garage with a friend.
According to a statement of probable cause filed March 30, the alleged assault occurred Easter Sunday at a home in Vernal. The 9-year-old victim was with her mother at that home, where the mother was hanging out with a friend she met while incarcerated in jail. As the 9-year-old girl slept on the couch, her mother and that friend agreed to go into the garage and get high on methamphetamine. When the mother returned, her daughter was on the couch but her clothes were in disarray and she seemed upset and wanted to go home. The next day, the girl reported that four men inside the home had taken her into a bedroom before taking turns raping her and then sodomizing her. The girl reported that while one of the men was raping her, he told her he would kill her if she ever told anyone about what was happening. The girl's mother notified police, who responded to the home. And yet taxpayers do not want to fund after school programs, Foster care, or Court advocacy programs for addicts and homeless children so there is a safe and appropriate place for this poor child or other at risk children to go to.
I agree the mother should be charged and incarcerated as a co-conspirator taking a child to a to such and environment and leaving her unattended. Since Grandparents have no rights to step in and take custody even if they want the child she will most likely end up abandoned and considered too old/troubled for adoption. More than likely the only way she will get more than short term residential theraputic treatment is if she commits a crime and is incarcerated. Just points out why we should not be releasing so called non violent offenders early. Or reuniting vulnerable children with defective parents that clearly care more about themselves than their children. |

I doubt the mom will be charged though. It would deter other potential victims from coming forward in similar circumstances. At least she came forward and the child has a chance at some help. I do agree she is just as guilty as the four rapists. I just wish doing this to a child is a capital offense. |

This kind of stuff just makes my heartbreak.. That poor child...
All I can say if it had happen to one of mine or one of my grand kids.. They would not need a trial and I would be sitting in prison knowing they got what they deserved. And I would make sure they begged for mercy....which they would never have.. The mother should be brought up on charges and the girl taken away and never given back... |

After some thought I reckon rope, razor blades and tape for the mouth.
Dissection slowly and deep, layer by layer. Washing blood away with vinegar. If they survive that in jail where they can be dealt with. After that they won't have anything to touch another little girl. |
